The Final Fantasy series has given us more incredible soundtracks than I could possibly count, but if you asked me to pick my favorites, Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy IX would probably be fighting for the top spot. There is just something about hearing a familiar melody from either game that immediately brings back a very specific memory.

So imagine my surprise when I found out that legendary composer Nobuo Uematsu himself isn't particularly fond of most of his own work on what is probably the most well-known and acclaimed game in the franchise to this day!
