There are plenty of things I would trust a cat to do. Knock something off a shelf? Absolutely. Wake me up at an ungodly hour because the food bowl is 3% emptier than usual? Without question. Pilot a gigantic combat mech into a battlefield filled with heavily armed machines? Well, apparently somebody at Raven Studio decided that was a perfectly reasonable idea.

Cats in the Shell, a mech-building roguelike auto battler developed by veterans from Tencent and NetEase, is bringing its bizarre combination of adorable pilots and enormous war machines to PC, with Steam Early Access officially scheduled to begin on January 20, 2027.

And if you are already curious about what happens when you put a feline inside a walking tank, you won't have to wait until launch to find out.

Your Next Mech Commander Has Whiskers

Ahead of Steam Next Fest, the developers have released the game's first playable demo, giving aspiring feline commanders the opportunity to jump into Expedition Mode and start putting their mechanical creations through increasingly nasty encounters.
