Star Wars: Zero Company was the most successful Star Wars launch in eons, rising to the top of the charts in record time. For most of the developers at Bit Reactor, however, it was a bittersweet moment.
Money ran dry as the team neared the launch, forcing Bit Reactor to furlough approximately 80% of its staff to keep the lights on.
The news generated a lot of anxiety among the public about the future of Bit Reactor, with fears that the best Star Wars strategy game ever made would end up being a single child in spite of the developers' wishes.
Fortunately for us, and most importantly, for the team over at Bit Reactor, those fears will not come to pass.
Bit Reactor CEO Greg Foertsch took to social media today to report that, after weathering the storm and navigating "unexpected business developments" outside the company's control, the studio has now "started the process of returning more of our team to work," as part of the Star Wars: Zero Company post-launch support.
Star Wars: Zero Company released on August 27, 2026, and is available on PC, XBOX Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
