Just about everything in World of Warcraft: Forever has been met with universal praise. Everything except the new Skyborne race, that is.
While their inclusion in an old-school World of Warcraft landscape has been approved by Chris Metzen, they've still received plenty of pushback. Some of it has been a little unwarranted, if you ask me; I know people really, really want Ogres and High Elves as playable races, but you cannot deny the massive popularity of Elves.
Just look at the numbers: the Skyborne race consists of 18% of the beta playerbase, according to ClassicPlus.io. It's only behind Humans on the Alliance-wide, while it trails Orcs and the Undead for the Horde. To be fair, the Undead is undoubtedly buoyed by the hype of Undead Paladins. Either way, it's clear that the Skyborne race is popular.
Despite that popularity, there has been one consistent complaint against them that just about everyone agrees with: they do not look like they belong in Classic WoW.
