YouTuber With 200,000 Subscribers Banned After Playing Hellraiser: Revival

Hellraiser isn't exactly subtle about its themes of sadomasochism and sexualized torture, but that hasn't stopped YouTube from banning a creator who uploaded censored gameplay footage from the newly released Hellraiser: Revival game.

J0nathan, a French content creator with roughly 190,000 subscribers, revealed that his channel was taken down for violating YouTube's sex and nudity policy. “Explicit content that’s meant to be sexually gratifying isn’t allowed on YouTube," the company said in response to an appeal.

As reported by IGN, the game's opening features an explicit sex scene with BDSM and a topless woman. Several channels have uploaded videos featuring this scene completely uncensored, whereas J0nathan covered up the nudity with black boxes, while also making sure to flag the video as "Not Made for Kids." He relucted to add an age gate, assuming that if it was necessary, YouTube would simply add one later "like they always do." However, that didn't stop the ban hammer from swinging in his direction.
