Of all the platforms available to gamers, Steam is easily the one most dense with free games. So much so that it's not always easy to work out which freebies are worth your time. In a year with massive games like 007: First Light, Resident Evil Requiem, Ocarina of Time, and GTA 6, it can be hard to turn your attention to the smaller titles. But if you're gaming on a budget, those small freebies can be a blessing.
As of November 4, Steam has dropped a fresh batch of free games for you to download and keep forever. Granted, new free games are added to Steam every single day, but we're here to try and separate the wheat from the chaff and let you know which are actually worth a shot.
First up is WendyQuest: Legend of the Four Corner Stones, a new free-to-play pixel-art RPG officially created and backed by the fast-food chain Wendy's. Given we've had games about Pepsi and Burger King in the past, you'd be forgiven for being a little concerned about the quality of this one, but it looks like a genuinely fun love-letter to the SNES era.
