God of War Laufey is one of my most anticipated games of 2027, originally scheduled to be part of a busy February release schedule. Today, Sony Santa Monica announced that the game has been pushed back by a few months. Following this delay, God of War Laufey will now release on May 20th, 2027.
I know that delays are always disappointing when we can’t wait to play a game. However, I feel that if a team needs some extra time to execute their vision, they should be given that time when financially possible. Not to mention, in this particular case, I think God of War Laufey moving away from a packed February is the best choice. It will allow the game time and space to shine on its own without players being distracted by other major releases like Fable (which is also on my most anticipated list).
I can’t wait to get my hands on God of War Laufey, and waiting a little longer can only result in an even better game, right?
God of War Laufey releases for PS5 on May 20th, 2027.
