S-GAME has released a new update for Phantom Blade Zero, bringing several improvements to the action RPG, including faster startup times on PC, combat adjustments, and several bug fixes. This new update also introduces new audio and control options, along with improvements to how the game handles shader compilation.
One of the biggest changes for PC players is how Phantom Blade Zero handles ray tracing shaders. Previously, these shaders were originally compiled during the game’s start-up. However, this update changes that process to reduce startup times significantly. Players who had ray tracing disabled will need to go through a one-time shader compilation after updating, while those who already had it enabled can jump straight into the game. Enabling ray tracing later will trigger a separate shader compilation the next time the game starts.
Combat has also received some attention, with adjustments to several bosses and enemies. One notable change involves Hua, Deadly Betrothed, who will now use her grab attacks less frequently on Wayfarer and Pathbreaker difficulties. Other difficulty settings remain unaffected, so players looking for a challenge won’t see any changes to that particular encounter.
