Baldur's Gate 3 Players Download More Than One Million In 24 Hours

Patch 7 for Baldur's Gate 3 is the biggest update yet, adding new ending cinematics, a range of bug fixes, and perhaps most excitingly, mod support. This means that it's become easier for fans to both create and install mods, something that players have already taken full advantage of in the days since the patch dropped.

In fact, Larian boss Swen Vincke has confirmed that more than one million mods were installed for Baldur's Gate 3 in less than 24 hours. This is despite Patch 7 only being available on PC right now, with console players having to wait until October to start playing around with mods.

While that is a ridiculous amount of mods to be installed in such a short period of time, it's not overly surprising to see that modders were ready to go from day one. Some were given access to the mod tools in Patch 7 ahead of time, as Larian seems eager to engage with its modding community.

Of course, many PC players have been using mods since the days when Baldur's Gate 3 was in early access. The main difference now is that making the mods should be much easier, with official tools...
