Baldur's Gate 3's latest patch has added a wave of new ending cinematics, all focussed on letting you see the consequences of your evil actions. Now, if you choose to control the Netherbrain and become the Absolute, you can choose what you'll use this power for - or in other words, how exactly you plan to torment your new subjects.
One of these endings is locked behind the partnership you can form with The Emperor. From launch, we've had the option to stick with him to the end of the game and convince him to rule the world alongside us. Now, we can see how that alliance pans out, and it's great news for anyone who wanted a little bit more out of their romp with the mind flayer.
As you can see in the new ending, The Emperor is the one calling the shots here. You now act as his general, killing his enemies - the Githyanki. You still get the option to turn against him in these final moments and try to claim the power for yourself, but he easily overpowers and kills you.
However, if you happily accept your new life, there's an oddly sweet moment...
