Dragon's Dogma 2's latest patch has added Casual Mode, an easier difficulty that balances some of the more tedious aspects of Capcom's critically acclaimed RPG.
Firstly, Casual Mode reduces the price of staying at an inn. This makes restoring your health points, saving the game and changing vocations at an inn a less expensive affair. Another one of the adjustments in Casual Mode is that ferrystones are cheaper, allowing players to fast travel without breaking the bank.
Casual Mode is rounded out by a larger carrying capacity tolerance, less stamina being expended when dashing out of battle and the loss gauge not increasing when loading your last save after dying.
Interestingly, in Casual Mode, pawns afflicted with the Dragonsplague will not trigger a 'Devastating Calamity' even after their illness reaches the terminal stage. You can understand how a trusted follower suddenly turning into a giant dragon and destroying a town isn't exactly a casual Dragon's Dogma 2 experience.
