A page for Resident Evil 9 has appeared on review aggregation site Metacritic, leading fans to believe that a trailer could be on the way.
Now, a page appearing on Metacritic isn't necessarily indicative of that game actually existing. After all, there's been a Half-Life 3 page on Metacritic for years and Valve hasn't spilled the beans on that just yet (thanks, PCGN). That being said, Metacritic pages don't pop up out of nowhere either. There's a reason why they've been generated, but that isn't always necessarily because the developer, which would be Capcom in this case, has registered the game. Only Metacritic knows exactly why this page exists, but there was a correlation between the publishing of a Grand Theft Auto 6 page and Rockstar's subsequent announcement.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard director Koshi Nakanishi previously confirmed that there's a new Resident Evil in development, and he'll be directing it: "We're making a new Resident Evil. It was really difficult to figure out what to do after 7. But I found it, and to be honest, it feels substantial. I can't share any details, but I hope you're excited for the day I can," Nakanishi said earlier this year....
