Romancing SaGa has always been a little bit different in the way it handles New Game Plus. Usually, the mode allows someone to play through an entire game a second time, yet keep their progression from their first playthrough, allowing them to tackle higher difficulties with a bit more of an advantage. Romancing SaGa's version is relatively similar, but you're able to activate the mode pretty much whenever you like.
It's a big tradition, and a feature that many games across the series have utilized - especially in the earlier titles - but the Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven remake has decided to walk a different path. In fact, it's deviated from the original game quite a bit, in that it has absolutely no New Game Plus mode at all. Instead, players will be able to choose different difficulty modes to help them get through sections of the game in which they might find themselves stuck.
