Wizards of the Coast and Invoke Studios, formerly Tuque Games, have decided to discontinue Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance after a cold reception and a dwindling player base. The title was met with unfavorable reviews at launch and couldn’t escape its game over despite a series of updates.
Dark Alliance listings across stores added a shutdown message indicating February 24, 2025, as the server sunset for the title. From here on out, it'll be unavailable online, but you can download now and continue in a single-player mode.
Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance Downfall
Dark Alliance was one of the most disappointing games of 2021, thanks to the rocky launch and buggy gameplay. The premise was exciting and the timing perfect, but the execution didn’t land well, preventing the project's popularity.
The sticking points included dull gameplay, imbalance, and impediments like the inability to trade players. Desperate attempts to salvage the action-RPG through a series of corrective updates proved futile, and the all-time Steam player peak fell short of 10,000.
