Wizordum does not aspire to revolutionize the boomer shooter genre, nor to revolutionize the world of indie titles. On the contrary, it represents a heartfelt and affectionate act of love toward a way of understanding video games that today exists only in a niche of the market. Despite its rough edges, almost all traceable to a final phase that was unfortunately rushed in development, Emberheart Games' title still manages to be an immediate, punishing but at the same time extremely rewarding action experience. If you grew up exploring the pixelated corridors of the nineties, the kingdom of Terrabruma will be able to capture you. A throwback that is imperfect in its final execution, but damn fun to play.

Moonlight Peaks is a title that convinces more for charm, atmosphere and structural solidity than for boldness, but precisely for this reason it manages to leave a positive and coherent impression. It is a world – after a slow initial progression – in which it is easy to get lost, full of characters worth getting to know and plenty of activities that often lead you to deviate from the chosen path. On Nintendo Switch 2 – apart from some uncertainty in handheld mode – it works well, enough to be recommended to those who want a cozy game with a gothic flavor.

The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu does not lack ambition. The narration entrusted to documents and audio recordings is an effective device, and the island can be unsettling when the gameplay allows it. The structural flaws, however, weigh like boulders: a crippling inventory, unreliable AI, dysfunctional combat and an underlying repetitiveness that penalizes the solo experience above all. Those who love cooperative multiplayer and have a patience worthy of R'lyeh may snatch a few moments of genuine cosmic horror. For everyone else, the island of the Mound risks remaining a destination only dreamed of, and never truly conquered.
