Valkyrie Elysium is an enjoyable action RPG packed full of combos and upgrades, but the boring levels and story detract from the fun.
Life is Strange Arcadia Bay Collection features two great games, but the visuals leave a little to be desired. The story of Max and Chloe still hits you hard, but overall, it's let down by various texture and animation issues.
Kamiwaze: Way of the Thief is a very silly stealth game that makes sneaking fun as long as you can tolerate the graphics.
Don't go in expecting to be blown away, and Splatter: Zombiecalypse Now is a very satisfying few hours.
With clunky combat and poorly explained mechanics, Lovecraft's Untold Stories 2 fails to hit the mark in any meaningful way.
Overwatch 2 plays brilliantly. It's a wonderful shooter full of depth, with unique heroes to master, maps to learn, and hours of your life to lose all over again.
It's not for the faint of heart, but if you're a veteran of deck building you'll find a lot to love in Vault of the Void.
NieR: Automata The End of YoRHa Edition is brilliant: it's still essential, still bonkers. Play this game.
Wayward Strand provides a poignant reminder that life is fragile, but within its delicate boundaries, we have a gift unlike anything else. The residents are all interesting thanks to great writing and a solid cast, and when you're done, you'll be left feeling a deep sense of respect for the elderly.
Outside of the lengthy modes discussed, it's just what you want out of a football game: a damn good game of footy. I don't care what they call it next year, if it improves on this then I will be there on day one.
Penko Park is a charming and delightful photography game that fits loads of upgrades and weird monsters into its short runtime.
Moonscars is an intentionally bleak adventure in an unforgiving world, but players who seek a genuine challenge will certainly find it here.
Flippin Misfits is an absolute blast, with fast paced zero gravity gameplay that will make you shout at your friends in all the right ways.
Return to Monkey Island feels like a bridge linking some of the absolute best point-and-click adventures of gaming's younger years with the sensibilities of the modern world.
Alfred Hitchcock Vertigo has some of the funniest voice acting in any game I've played this year, but unfortunately that wasn't the intent.
The Spirit and the Mouse is a heartfelt and relaxing game that's well worth experiencing if you don't mind a lack of action.
NBA 2K23 is both fantastic and frustrating, where VC is a huge problem, but new modes like The Jordan Challenge is thoroughly enjoyable.
Although Session: Skate Sim is a difficult game to get used to, the joy of pulling off tricks far outweighs the frustration. It faithfully recreates skateboarding culture of the 90s, and offers tons of freedom to play however you want.
Arcanium: Rise of Akhan is a good deck building roguelike, but the complexity and difficulty make it hard to recommend to all but the most hardcore.
Shovel Knight Dig is the perfect first roguelike, packed full of that tasty Shovel Knight gameplay we all know and love.
