Although almost every single mechanic in the game feels eerily similar to the Monster Hunter series, God Eater 3 manages to stand on its own (monstrous) two feet thanks to some incredible combat and a surprisingly engaging story.

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is the crowning achievement for aerial combat sims, and for all that it gets wrong, it makes up for in other areas. At the end of the day, it's easily one of the best flight games I've ever played.

Bury me, my Love is a beautiful, touching story about one Syrian refugee's journey. Its messaging app interface makes it easy to connect with and become emotionally invested in, making the storytelling all the more impactful. Still, without the option of going back and reviewing difficult choices, it may become repetitive upon subsequent playthroughs, despite boasting 19 different endings.

The transition from Telltale Games to Skybound Games feels as smooth as it could possibly be. The themes in Broken Toys tend to get in the way of each other, but otherwise, this is a solid episode that builds nicely into the finale.

Resident Evil 2 is an absolutely phenomenal remake, one which is bolstered by the developer's renewed sense of confidence and a newfound sense of direction. Capcom has fully come to grips with what the series should look like in this day and age, and the end result is pure survival horror, retooled and retweaked for a modern audience. The Godfather of survival horror is back.

Bowser Jr.'s Journey may not offer a ton of new content, but the core game is as good as ever. It might not be as enticing for returning players, but those on the hunt for a fun, relaxing RPG with quirky humor and a silly story will feel right at home.
