The Division 2 is by far the easiest recommendation at launch this genre has had in many, many years, and is very well positioned to become the definitive looter shooter experience out there.
If you can get past its flaws, Black Desert will reward you with a gorgeous game world and some incredible combat, but poor tutorials, repetitive missions, a messy interface, and the odd set of bugs stop it from being anything more than average.
One Piece: World Seeker could have been so much more that it is. While many of its elements were executed rather well and are still very enjoyable, many others feel uninspired and generic. Hopefully, Bandai Namco and Ganbarion learn from this first attempt at an open-world One Piece game and are able to improve on it in the future, as World Seeker has made it clear that One Piece would work very well as a large-scale open-world game.
Left Alive won't satisfy fans of stealth or of Front Mission. With unengaging gameplay, erratic AI, and a lack of polish across the board, Left Alive won't be remembered in the years to come.
Legacy of the First Blade stumbles with attempts at some large story beats and squanders the potential of others.
It might have small flaws, but Devil May Cry V is like a fine meal; it deserves to be savored, and if you do you'll likely want to re-experience it. The fact you might see everything it has multiple times over in doing so is just a bonus.
There's just not much to The Lego Movie 2 Videogame that stands out as original. The core mechanics are mostly sound, but the rehashed movie story is told in a disjointed, unappealing fashion, and most of the things the game does well were done even better in previous games in the series.
Steins;Gate Elite succeeds to a surprising degree, and succeeds enough that some shortcomings can be overlooked. If you have not already, Steins;Gate Elite is the way to experience the classic story. This, too, is the will of Steins Gate.
Dead or Alive 6 is a great game that is easy for anyone to pick up and has the depth to last fighting game fans a long time.
Trials Rising is the same Trials that you've been playing for years and years. Fans should be happy, but don't expect too much in terms of innovatio
When everything clicks, Anthem is great. But it is a game with major flaws, and how much you enjoy it will depend on both your ability to tolerate them and BioWare's ability to fix them.
DiRT Rally 2.0 is a big win for the largely overlooked rally racing simulator genre.
Jump Force is a very flawed game that fails at some of the most basic fundamentals, but nonetheless manages to be great fun, and provide enough value and fanservice that fans of the various properties from Shonen Jump represented within it will find enough reason to get it.
Crackdown 3 maintains some of the series's inconsistencies, but it does more right than it does wrong, and it's a blast to play when everything comes together.
Although it plays it a little safe, Far Cry New Dawn is an enjoyable entry into the franchise that should go over well with fans.
Metro Exodus is an ambitious sequel that retains the best parts of its predecessors, while also expanding upon their ideas in significant ways. A general lack of polish hurts those ambitions somewhat, but in the end, this is a game that is well worth the price of entry.
Apex Legends is a fun entry into the battle royale genre. Besides suffering from some gameplay choices, it brings enough new ideas to the table to warrant a look.
While some of its sense of celebration can feel dampened by sheer franchise fatigue, on the whole, Nexus does a great job of ushering out its series, as well as the hardware that it has been beholden to all this time.
Monster Energy Supercross 2 recreates the spot admirably and has enough depth to the gameplay to satisfy even the more hardcore fans, but it's held back by bugs, inconsistent production values, and barebones modes that lack variety.
Kingdom Hearts 3 is a well-crafted title that has something for everyone. With a collection of fun Disney adventures and fun gameplay, this is the finest entry the series has seen in recent memory.
