8.6 / 10.0 - Darkest Dungeon
Jan 21, 2016

Darkest Dungeon is a roguelike that even those who don't like the genre might enjoy, thanks to a challenging yet fair experience, a charmingly dark atmosphere and a superb presentation. Some procedurally generated elements may not sit well with some, but Darkest Dungeon is so well crafted that it's easy to look past them.

Not the best Resident Evil game by a long shot, but Resident Evil 0 had loads to offer fans of the series. Newcomers are best to look towards the original game, though.

Dragon's Dogma is a great action RPG, especially as a first entry in the franchise. CAPCOM successfully married the Western open world RPG with an awesome combat system and a bit of Japanese flavor; if you haven't played it until now, the PC version offers enhanced graphics and frame rate. I, for one, hope to learn about a sequel very soon.

If you're a fan of the series, or just want to play a decent JRPG, then sure, this is it. Just don't expect anything you haven't seen before.

6.2 / 10.0 - Devilian
Jan 13, 2016

Devilian is a well functioning MMO/ARPG but has nothing to set it apart from others, except possibly visuals. The real money elements aren't intrusive and wont force you to spend money, which is always a positive.

5.4 / 10.0 - Hardware: Rivals
Jan 11, 2016

If you look up "average" in the gaming dictionary, a poster for this game will sit next to it. It's not a broken mess, but it's so run-of-the-mill you won't ever feel like you've missed out if you don't play it.

7.2 / 10.0 - Amplitude HD
Jan 3, 2016

Amplitude won't take over your Rock Band party nights, but it might be quirky enough to give you a few evenings of trippy, challenging button mashing. If you enjoy music games, give it a try.

A fantastic episodic adventure with only a few shallow pitfalls to knock the experience. Comedy gaming done oh so right.

Though it might not be the next AAA FPS to attempt to dethrone Call of Duty, it offers a remarkable amount of variety and fun in its package. This is an experience only just arriving on the console shores and one that looks to pave the way for more to come in the future. Great fun, easy to play and very chaotic. The perfect Christmas present.

7.8 / 10.0 - Just Cause 3
Dec 19, 2015

A good, if not great, game that focuses on the simpler things in life, making things go boom while giving you a plethora of options to do so. It might not be the most engaging, but the ability to log-in really quick to let off steam is great. And the music is fantastic!

9 / 10.0 - DiRT Rally
Dec 18, 2015

This is how racing games should be - plenty to see, plenty to do and plenty to crash into. If you have any interest in the racing genre, if you remember the quality Codemasters games of the past or if you like titles that provide more than their fair share of value, Dirt Rally deserves to be on your watch list.

8.4 / 10.0 - FAST Racing Neo
Dec 17, 2015

One of the Wii U's best racing titles, for a great price. Get this game, Wii U owners. You won't regret it; it might not live up to F-Zero's legacy, but what's on offer here is well polished and a lot of fun.

7.6 / 10.0 - Helldivers
Dec 15, 2015

Helldivers is an fast-paced, funny and, most importantly, fun game. It has the same strange sense of humour found in Arrowhead's previous titles and is one of the few games that makes multiplayer worthwile, even when dropping in with random teams.

This just might be the best game on Wii U. If you own the system, buy this in confidence. Worth it for the world alone.

7.2 / 10.0 - Hard West

Hard West is a solid tactical game. It lacks in story and character aspects but more than makes up for it when you go into battle.

Darksiders 2 is a good game, just not necessarily as good as your other options right now. One day, when you're desperate to play an adventure title and you've completed everything else this will be an enjoyable treat, but for now, I'd wait.

An fantastic singleplayer campaign with a multiplayer component that's both familiar and slightly evolved in all the best ways possible. You'll be hard pressed to not enjoy this game for the singleplayer story itself. One of the best stories ever created.

8.6 / 10.0 - Fallout 4
Nov 21, 2015

Fallout 4 is one of the best games I've played this year. It's not the best and not even the best RPG (which in this case is the same thing) due to some missteps detailed in the review, but this shouldn't deter you from an experience that will be worth it for any fans of the genre and setting. Moreover, this is just the beginning: we'll hear a lot more of Fallout 4 in the coming years thanks to DLCs and mods that will likely bring the game to a whole new level. The Commonwealth gates have just opened and few will be able to resist entering.

Legacy of the Void is a good release for those already fans of the series. Priced too high for my liking, but the game still offers a decent length campaign marred by a bad and poorly wrote story. The changes and new features made to the online portion of the game should reinvigorate the community and potentially bring people back to it.

A fantastic game if but for a few flaws that might make it not as attractive as it could be. It doesn't quite live up to the hype, but that doesn't mean it's a terrible game to play. It's fun, but just don't think you'll enjoy it for more than a week. DLC makes it worthwhile, but it's too expensive.
