Gadgets 360's Reviews

Oct 2, 2017

If you can stomach its technical imperfections, the addictive loop of combat and exploration combined with a great roster of characters, and excellent production values make Battle Chasers: Nightwar well worth checking out. It might not be the biggest release of October but it's definitely one of the most enjoyable yet.

8 / 10 - FIFA 18
Sep 22, 2017

With an improved story mode, polished visuals, and fluid gameplay, FIFA 18 is a solid upgrade over FIFA 17 and even its rival.

The end-to-end gameplay of Pro Evolution Soccer is a double-edged sword. It's the reason it's so exciting to play – goal fests are, by their very nature – but it also contributes into making a game that feels unrealistic at best. And then there's Konami and its licensing troubles, which seems to further deteriorate each year.

5 / 10 - Hiveswap
Sep 14, 2017

Ultimately, Hiveswap is a let-down for fans of point-and-click adventure games, but much more so for fans of Homestuck, especially for those that contributed the millions that went towards its making.

7 / 10 - Destiny 2
Sep 8, 2017

At the moment, Destiny 2 does a fantastic job of improving on the strengths of the original game along with bringing some new additions to the table. However, not all of these are good or warranted, marring what could have been a perfect sequel.

All in all, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is a fantastic addition to the Switch line-up, and it's also a great strategy game that brings fresh ideas to the genre.

Life is Strange: Before the Storm shows that it understands what pulled people into the nostalgia-fuelled Arcadia Bay, and creates an emotionally-charged intriguing opening chapter to a story that we'll be keeping an eye on.

7 / 10 - Knack 2
Sep 5, 2017

While Knack 2 is an improvement over the original Knack, it doesn't do anything wildly different either. Rather, it's a textbook example of listening to user feedback and giving fans what they want. It might not be as ambitious as some of the bigger releases of the season, but there's just about enough for fans of the platforming genre to indulge in.

8 / 10 - Sonic Mania
Aug 18, 2017

From level design, to the art and music, Sonic Mania gets a lot of things right. For once, we have a Sonic game that does justice to the iconic character and the franchise.

Clocking in at around six and a half hours, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is a worthy entry in the franchise and far from a cash grab. Considering its budget price tag and the inclusion of Uncharted 4's full multiplayer suite, it's an unexpected, albeit superlative return to a franchise that's been consistently entertaining.

All in all, Agents of Mayhem is a solid effort. Fantastic heroes, ridiculous satire, and bombastic action make it a game you should check out even if the final product isn't as polished as it could be.

8 / 10 - Matterfall
Aug 15, 2017

On the whole, Matterfall's presentation and gameplay are solid with enough twists to Housemarque's existing formula to make it a fun little distraction. If you're craving for an action-fuelled romp beyond the usual AAA, big budget releases, Matterfall is worth considering.

Marrying combat, narrative, and strong characters, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is greater than the sum of its parts, making it well worth its asking price. It might not be the sequel to DmC: Devil May Cry, but it's a tense, dramatic experience that's worth the price of entry.

8 / 10 - Tacoma
Aug 1, 2017

All in all, Tacoma is a great follow up to Gone Home. With a fantastic set of characters and solid execution of its plot, its well worth considering. Unless you're the sort who compares every second of gameplay to the cost of the game, there's no reason not to check it out.

Pyre is longer than the previous games from Supergian Games, which allows it time to establish the story and characters and gives players time to get used to battle mechanics as well. Once the acclimatisation period is complete, Pyre blooms into yet another amazing game from the developer.
