Pyre is longer than the previous games from Supergian Games, which allows it time to establish the story and characters and gives players time to get used to battle mechanics as well. Once the acclimatisation period is complete, Pyre blooms into yet another amazing game from the developer.
We have to admit That's You! a pretty fun game. You get to use your big screen as a board and a pleasant narrator keeps things interesting. This game isn't a must-have for everyone, but it's nice to have for your family get-togethers or parties with friends.
The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind is worth checking out if you're looking for a fix of single-player Elder Scrolls adventuring like Skyrim, especially as there's no mainline sequel expected for quite some time.
All in all, Valkyria Revolution is well worth avoiding. Unless you're a hardcore fan of the franchise's mythology, there's little reason to slog through this.
While the visual novel elements far outweigh its strategy side, the story - despite being sequel bait - had us enthralled till the very end. If you're looking to try something out of the ordinary, Mask of Deception is a fun romp. We would however suggest picking it up with along its sequel when that hits later in the year, rather than leaving the story halfway.
Overall, MXGP3 is a game that will please hardcore Motocross fans who want a simulation racing game. It's almost hostile towards new players or those who don't follow Motocross, but if you take the time to learn how to play, then the game does reward you.
Ultimately, it makes for a new Dirt chapter that doesn't share the ethos of its numbered predecessors, and it doesn't feel right for the game to be called Dirt 4. That's not to say the game isn't good; fans of Dirt Rally, Project Cars, and other simulation titles will find enough to enjoy here. But if you're getting into Dirt 4 to relive the joys of the earlier hits, this is the wrong game.
It's hard to believe that Tokyo 42 is the debut title from developer SMAC as its an extremely polished and enjoyable.
Overall, you could do far worse than The Caligula Effect, but you could do far better as well. Due to its myriad of issues both technical and otherwise - and despite the solid story and music - there's little reason to check out this RPG until it's deeply discounted.
If you loved the base game, we'd wholeheartedly recommend this expansion. It's totally over the top and has enough content to justify the price.
Incremental gameplay changes and an unnecessary complex Gear System make Injustice 2 a game that's entertaining, if safe. It's not as bad as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but it's not The Dark Knight either.
Although there are pieces of a good arcade basketball game here, it lacks polish, and seems to have been rushed out the door. Playgrounds is inherently fun because it lets you play out outrageous dunks, but it just doesn't do enough to stand up to the greats of its genre, let alone push the bar in any way.
Overall, Dragon Quest Heroes II is a game we'd recommend to RPG fans. It offers an engaging story, a wide cast of great characters, and some cool hack-and-slash combat.
We did find ourselves wishing for a better story and slightly more in terms of gameplay, and the length of the game. However, the game's short length keeps it from feeling overly repetitive.
Online mode aside, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is yet another fantastic first-party title from Nintendo. It adds several refinements, new modes, characters, and racetracks to an already awesome game.
Clocking in at around 20 hours, Prey is well worth checking out even if you're not a fan of horror or sci-fi. It might not be wholly original, but that doesn't make it any less fun.
Overall, The Sexy Brutale was a pretty enjoyable puzzle game. It reminded us of good point-and-click adventure titles of yore through a combination of a neatly executed story and the challenging puzzles. We wish the game had a little bit of hand-holding for newcomers, but experienced players are sure to love it.
As far as puzzle games go, Puyo Puyo Tetris is well worth checking out. It's a competent entry in the Nintendo Switch's library. Once you look past some of its quirks, it's a game that you'll be playing for hours on end.
While moving to an open-world worked for the likes of Ghost Recon Wildlands, and Forza, Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 feels like it made the switch in order to classify as a current generation game, than an actual necessity.
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III is one of the best RTS games we've played in years. If you have even a remote interest in the genre, you shouldn't pass this up.
