The Talos Principle, is a game which may bore some to tears, but will serve others with the necessary dose of peace and tranquillity, as the combination of the eerily empty yet beautifully charming locations with the peaceful and calming soundtrack, will surely serve most with exactly what they need when taking a break from the big AAA action games of today.

This is the second PES on the new gen consoles and it seems to be improving year on year, but will the addictive gameplay compensate for the lack of content as it goes head to head with its FIFA rival once more this year?

9 / 10.0 - ADR1FT
Jul 28, 2016

Ultimately, Adr1ft is an exceptional experience which should be played by everyone who is a fan of the adventure genre. Its simple, yet extremely effective narrative also shows that the genre of the so called 'walking simulators' doesn't need an overproduced story, with hundreds of moral choices, and a cast of meaningless characters.

A very creative, if simply presented, puzzle platformer that gets every aspect spot on and doesn't outstay its welcome.

9 / 10.0 - Broforce

Broforce is quite literally a blast to play. It has the humour down, the exhilarating precise combat and level design, the enemy variation, and not to mention a plethora of content to get stuck into.

Blood, guts, and broken bones are a vital part of Mother Russia Bleeds, as despite it’s old school visual facade, it is an extremely gory title. And, contrary to popular belief, that’s good, very good in fact. Gore which accompanies the violence that is present throughout this Soviet journey, is the backbone of the the title, as it is the thing which allows Mother Russia Bleeds to stand amongst other slouching, half-baked indie products. And ultimately, gore is the final piece of the puzzle which makes Mother Russia Bleeds whole. However, the puzzle despite its completion, is lacking in some sections, as the story of Mother Russia Bleeds gets constantly lost amongst all the blood, screams, and chaos. And that is what some may find disappointing, as many will see Mother Russia Bleeds‘ story mode as nothing more than an extension to the arena mode.

9 / 10.0 - Human: Fall Flat
May 8, 2017

In summary, one could state that Human: Fall Flat is a perfect puzzle game which doesn’t feature a single puzzle, and while such statement carries a significant amount of truth, it has to be stated that Human: Fall Flat‘s perfection carries a single major blemish, in form of its final level. A lot of the negativity concerning the finale comes from the fact that unlike the rest of the title it is anchored within a questionable setting, and the obstacles which were excellent throughout the earlier stages of the title, are nothing but a nuisance during this particular level. The ingenuity of water level, or the excitement which came with the castle playground, is nowhere to be found within the title’s finale, and it is rather disappointing, as the otherwise great title ends with a rather anti-climactic sequence which may leave a lot of players feeling deflated, and to some extent disappointed.

A work of art, which exemplifies the direction in which the gaming indie scene should be heading, while at the same time showcasing why it should also abandon AAA techniques of conducting narrative.
