Critic Reviews for Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection
Missing bells and whistles aside, these three exemplary games have never looked or played better than they do here, so whether you've played them before or not, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection should be in your library. These games have aged remarkably well, they're still an absolute blast to play, and their characters are as charming and memorable as ever.
An excellent remastering effort for anyone looking to discover or relive Nathan Drake's unparalleled peril.
With Uncharted 2 and 3, though, Naughty Dog transcended Drake's own small beginnings. The Nathan Drake Collection is a firsthand account of Naughty Dog's growth as a storyteller, and this collection is the best way to relive that history, and witness its transformation up close.
Anybody who'd like to replay the series or experience it for the first time before the looming release of Unharted 4 have no reason not to pick up The Nathan Drake Collection; it's simply the best way to experience three great games.
All three Uncharted games are must-plays, and Bluepoint Games has done an exceptional job porting the trilogy over on PlayStation 4 with The Nathan Drake Collection. The 1080p HD visuals and 60 frames-per-second add a fresh coat of paint that make all three entries look and feel relatively ageless. The set pieces are as thrilling as ever, and the characters are still charming and well written. But the lack of a multiplayer component is one strange and noticeable decision.
An utterly essential bundle for newcomers and veterans alike, thanks to the sheer value for money and huge technical improvements to three already incredible games.
The first three Uncharted games are among the best titles on PS3, and they hold their own majestically on PS4. If you didn't play the games on Sony's older console, and you're even remotely a fan of the genre, purchasing the collection is a no-brainer. If you already purchased the three titles separately on PS3, then the reasons to double dip are more limited, but if you love the series, this is definitely a very solid buy.
