The first free PS Plus games of the year have been announced on the PlayStation Blog, giving players the opportunity to check out 4 titles that they might have missed before.
This January, gamers with PS Plus will have access to Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection. The collection includes three titles that were developed by Naughty Dog for the PlayStation 3. The games are Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. The Nathan Drake Collection will include three single-player campaigns, and will feature updated visuals for the PlayStation 4. The multiplayer modes for Uncharted 2 and 3 will not be available, as the servers for those games were shut down in 2019. These three games are a great way to prepare yourself for the PlayStation 4 titles, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and Uncharted: Lost Legacy, as well as the upcoming movie.
The second release for PlayStation Plus this month is Goat Simulator. Goat Simulator is a purposely bad game that has players control a goat. The game was released on the PlayStation 4 in 2015, and tasks players with causing as much mayhem as possible, as well as licking everything in sight. According to the game's developer (via Polygon), Goat Simulator is about "causing as much destruction as you possibly can as a goat. It has been compared to an old-school skating game, except instead of being a skater, you're a goat, and instead of doing tricks, you wreck stuff. Destroy things with style and you'll earn even more points!"
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Goat Simulator will be available on PS Plus starting January 7th. The games will be available to download until February 3rd. The services current free games, Titanfall 2 and Monster Energy Supercross - The Official Game, will be available to download until January 6th.
