Giuseppe Nelva's Reviews
Total War: Pharaoh isn't a terrible game, but it's definitely not the grand return to the heyday of historical Total War games that fans have been desperately waiting for.
Ultimately, the visual novel is by a wide margin the best way to experience the Muv-Luv Alternative Total Eclipse story, leaving the anime far behind.
If, however, you enjoy your anime, mecha, turn-based tactics, and a deep and interesting story with a rich cast of attractive characters, it’s easy to recommend Relayer. It’s really as close to a playable sci-fi anime as it gets, and I’m all for it.
Ultimately, it’s a great game that will almost inevitably become even better with time, but the launch package won’t disappoint fans of either franchise involved. Especially Warhammer Fans are in for a treat, with new lore and new heroes providing a ray of hope for a better future after quite a few bleak years.
Mecha Knights: Nightmare isn’t perfect, and it likely isn’t for everyone. Yet, considering its nature and the limited resources with which it was developed, not only it’s impressively polished and content-rich, but it certainly blew my expectations out of the water in terms of gameplay fluidity and pure fun.
It’s an airport that provides a lot to explore and discover despite its small size both within and outside its borders, and feels like a lovingly crafted diorama that is easy to recommend.
Ultimately, if you plan to fly in the area, this add-on is pretty much required. I can’t even imagine simulating any kind of flight operation to or from Chongqing to any acceptable standard without having it.
If you like flying in South-East Asia in Microsoft Flight Simulator, this is pretty much a must-have, even more so considering that the Philippines enjoy a rich community of developers that have created many nice airports both on the payware and freeware scenes. Manila is the perfect centerpiece for that.
Hopefully, the developers will keep working on it down the line because the base is solid and Santiago is really a great airport to visit, located in a beautiful area of an equally charming country.
If you like flying airliners in Germany, this rendition of EDDH could be easily be defined asa must-have, especially considering the fact that it brings an absolutely massive improvement over the default version of the scenery in Microsoft Flight Simulator.
If you don’t mind crying and you’re OK with an extreme visual novel with no routes, I can certainly recommend TDA. Besides, if you had issues with getting your heart broken, you likely wouldn’t be interested in Muv-Luv anyway.
Ultimately, Helsinki has a few aspects that could be improved, but it’s certainly a competent add-on that can enrich your flights to and from the Nordic countries. If you care for flying in Finland in Microsoft Flight Simulator, or for adding the hub of another European capital to your collection, the large improvements over the default scenery certainly make Helsinki-Vantaa Airport an addon you likely will appreciate.
Quote not yet availableUltimately, the only really large issue I can identify in Paradox’s latest game is that it’s the supreme emperor of the “one more turn” syndrome (even if it doesn’t really have turns). If there is one title that has the potential to absolutely trash your sleeping schedule, it’s Crusader Kings 3.
An absolutely amazing return to form for the series
If you’re a Muv-Luv fan, playing Photonmelodies is definitely recommended. If you aren’t yet, this isn’t the right entry point, but this just means that you should absolutely play the original trilogy before you enjoy this to its fullest.
Ultimately, Muv-Luv: Photonflowers is a treat created for those who have played and loved the original games, which are doubtlessly among the best visual novels of all time.
Ultimately, God Wars: The Complete Legend is both a delightfully classic simulation JRPG experience and a small glimpse on how the genre could evolve without abandoning its turn-based structure.
If you want a game which is pretty much the polar opposite of the vast majority of modern AAA titles — in most of the right ways — I can wholeheartedly recommend Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain.
On the other hand, if you're on the market for a competent and interesting city builder with some casual JRPG toppings sprinkled on, adorable artwork, great voice acting, and a veritable celebration of the legacy of the Atelier series and of its many characters, I can definitely recommend giving Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists: Ateliers of the New World a try.
I really hope that the development team gets that chance.
