GameGrin's Reviews
A strong debut title from Ludic Studios and one to play on and off when you want a sword fight with no strings attached.
Varied items, engrossing gameplay and a killer soundtrack make Risk of Rain 2 one of the best roguelike shooters in recent years. The lack of a mid-game save feature and some uninspired environments hold this sequel back, but the astonishing translation from 2D to 3D more than makes up for it.
Spitlings is a colourful, crazy, hectic game that will have you laughing and probably yelling with your friends; this is a must-play party game. With one hundred different Spitlings to collect, will you get them all? Or will you surrender and bow down at the feet of your slime bubble overlords?
A unique rhythm based shoot-em-up game with a killer heavy metal soundtrack, detailed pixel characters and environments with tons of personality.
There's not really many ways of sugar coating it; this game is a mess on Xbox One and isn't worth your time. Surely any other fishing game would be worth considering if you have that urge.
Hellbound is a great experience. Although it does rely heavily on the DOOM aesthetic, Saibot Studios have created a core gameplay experience that could be the launchpad of something brilliant.
Tiny Racer looks like a super cool toy car driving game but the controls and crazy glitches make this game more frustrating than anything. Even the comic book "sound effect" words don't help it.
Ghost of Tsushima is one of the best open-world games this generation with a thrilling tale of revenge, great characters, satisfying swordplay and a stunning world that's chock-full of things to do making it so easy to get lost in this game for hours at a time.
Waking is a game that attempts to be two very different things, and for the most part, it succeeds quite well. If you're willing to devote a little bit of time to learning its quirky systems, you're in for a potentially rewarding experience. An experience which encourages you to close your eyes, take a deep breath, and go back into your memories.
Disappointing, but with a glimmer of hope down the line for a better iteration.
There are levels where everything works together to create some interesting challenges, though these are not frequent enough to make Wildfire stand out from the crowd.
While Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris is ambitious in scope it ends up being a largely unenjoyable title full of technical problems, bugs, and horrible pacing.
A nostalgia filled throwback to the Game Boy and awesome 2D platformers featuring super cute characters and a great soundtrack! If you love classic games or pixel graphics this is a must play!
Happiness is mandatory, the Computer is your friend, and this game is mediocre at best.
Despite having a solid atmosphere and an occasional interesting puzzle, it unfortunately fails to capture the depth of the games it's replicating.
While it certainly isn't a feast for the eyes, The Council exceeds expectations in all other regards, delivering a thoroughly enjoyable and occasionally thought-provoking experience.
This a super fun immersive game that is a must play for not only horror fans but anyone looking for a unique gaming experience!
Although rough at times, Calappa Games have created something fun and light-hearted that a lot of people will get their fair share of joy from.
GEESE vs CTHULHU is another great experience from the abstract world of Anatoliy Loginovskikh.
Studio Sott has managed to create a short game filled with wonderful characters and atmosphere. This brilliantly realised story reminds me of The Shining but filled with Mr Men. While Hotel Sowls doesn't innovate the basic point and click formula, it fills it with quality content and a surrealist vibe that really elevates itself. It's just a bit short.
