Developer Rainbite has taken inspiration from some of the best classics ever, and they have delivered a small-scale game that's both a great homage and a release that manages to stand on its own. Reverie is a fun game to play for pretty much everyone that enjoys action games. Reverie is totally worth your time and money, and I look forward to seeing what the team does for their next game!
PSN Game Price: $24.99
Swim Out is a fun puzzle game with a minimalist art style that is easy to recommend.
Thanks to the extra content for both games, Fallen Legion: Rise to Glory is the best way to play the definitive version of Fallen Legion: Sins of an Empire and Fallen Legion: Flames of Rebellion. Being able to play the game at home or on the go is fun, and the game looks great on TV and on the Nintendo Switch's screen. There's a lot of content to enjoy in this collection, making it's $39.99 price a steal.
I really loved playing Cosmic Star Heroine on PlayStation Vita and everything it brings to the table. It made me go back down memory lane, remembering games I enjoyed way back in the day while taking on this new adventure. The game has a great battle system that manages to make every battle feel fresh. If you're looking for a JRPG to play at home or on the go, then I highly recommend that you buy Cosmic Star Heroine today!
Penny-Punching Princess is an entertaining and fast-paced game in which you always need to be on high alert since a lot is going on in each fight as you juggle enemies and traps in small arena-style spots… which only gets worse when you're also facing against a mid-boss! If you're a fan of dungeon crawlers then I definitely recommend you give this one a try since it's a game that will keep you coming back for more until the end.
Trailblazers is a very fun combination of gameplay mechanics we've seen in other games, bringing them together in a racing game that stands out from the crowd. If you're into slower racing games then this game one is not for you, but if you like to dive into fast-paced racers with interesting gameplay mechanics that add a new twist into the mix, then be sure to check out Trailblazers today!
If you're into colorful racing games with a ton of content, then you should definitely check out Horizon Chase Turbo on PlayStation 4. The team at Aquiris has done a great job with this fast-paced racer, and I'll be working my way on getting a new Platinum for my collection as I work on completing the pending objectives in my trophy list. Hopefully we soon get some extra DLC tracks… or a sequel next year!
Fairune Collection is a very nice release on Nintendo Switch that for only $9.99 offers four games you can play at home or on the go for 10+ hours before you can complete all of them. Fairune and its sequel look a lot better on Nintendo Switch than they did on the Nintendo 3DS, so if you're a fan of the series this is a must-have on Nintendo's hybrid console.
Suicide Guy is an interesting game with a weird premise that sets things up. The stages are colorful, and they each have a nice variety of small puzzles to solve and several collectibles to find. I was a bit skeptical since first-person puzzle games can go either way, but this one manages to do things right.
Spiral Splatter is a very addictive minimalist puzzle game on Nintendo Switch I highly recommend you get. There is more than enough content in this one for its $4.99 asking price, and it's solid difficulty curve will keep challenging you whole never feeling frustratingly overwhelming.
PSN Game Price: $59.99
If you have a Vita and want to try the series, I definitively recommend you also play Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth3: V Generation, what is, in my opinion, the best Neptunia game!
The game ultimately is passable, but at the same time it is clear that a little more polish was needed before calling it a day on this one
The Adventure Pals is an addictively fun action platformer that you have to play on Nintendo Switch. There's a ton of content to enjoy, so you're looking at 8-10 hours with the game depending on how good you are at action platformers and if you find all stickers and cupcakes for each stage during your first run.
Death Road to Canada is very fun when played on your own or with a friend in local co-op, and I really liked the fact that each run was different from the previous one since it kept me coming back for more. Sure, the game is hard but if you're careful and plan your moves you'll eventually make it to your destination… right? Be sure to stock up on supplies, find the permanent upgrades, and kill as many zombies as you can!
City of Brass is a good looking and solid roguelite first-person adventure on PlayStation 4. While there isn't much story-telling or narrative in the game, other than the story setup you get during the tutorial from what is shared with you by the spirits of those who died exploring the cursed city, the game more than makes up for it with its gameplay mechanics in a very fun indie release from an experienced team.
Dragon's Crown Pro is just as fun on PlayStation 4 as it was on PS3 and Vita. The improved visuals and orchestral soundtrack make this one the definitive version, so if you're already a fan of it, or if you're up for playing a fantasy adventure beat ‘em up RPG, then this one is exactly what you needed.
I personally loved the game, and it does play much better on the Nintendo Switch than it did on the Vita. I also thought that the game played better in handheld mode rather than playing docked, as you can access the menu much faster with the touch screen mechanics.
I liked a lot of what I got from Phobos Vector Prime: The First Ring. I know it's a start to the franchise, with more modes and stories coming further down the line, which is why what is currently there might feel a bit light on content. But after playing the game, I do have to say that for the small asking price, this is definitely a good deal!
