LevelUp's Reviews
Sports titles that choose to get away from reality to deliver a fantasy game often sacrifice sophisticated mechanics for more freedom in the game. The case of Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions is no exception. It is an attractive game that does not seek to be a faithful portrayal of soccer, but an arcade experience. Although it takes this approach, it offers many customization options while incorporating fantasy mechanics that delivers a game system which is rewarding and sometimes frustrating and unfair due to some gameplay design issues.

Madden NFL says goodbye to a generation with more questions than answers and with an uncertain perspective on what may happen in the years to come.

Windbound shines at first glance for its beautiful landscapes and a mix of survival themes with good sea-navigation mechanics, yet it falls short putting these ingredients into action. It's a game that becomes fun if you manage to overcome the learning curve, but it becomes very tedious and frustrating after a few hours.

The current state of Marvel's Avengers is not much different of how we find Bruce Banner in the game's campaing. They are both in a bad position and they don't shine as bright as they should. However, they also have the potential to be something bigger, stronger and special. In Marvel's Avengers you will find a brilliant really good campaign and a competent looter multiplayer, but Crystal Dynamics still has work to do.

Remaking games is not easy, but once again, Activision and Vicarious Visions deliver a great experience. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2 fell as good as its original versions, but at the same time, they adopt some things that the franchise learned along the way. Is nice to see that such a beloved series came back in such a good way.

DontNot Entertainment presents a brotherhood story that, although entertaining, is rather simple. Tell My Why tackles Alyson and Taylor Ranon's journey in search of answers of their childhood filled with tears and tragedy. A recommended game to pass the time without complications on a boring afternoon but after finishing it, it will be forgotten.

Although not as popular as other sports franchises, EA Sports UFC 4 is one of the best simulation games out there today. EA Vancouver struck a balance between realistic and video game elements to deliver game that meets MMA fans expectation.

Destroy All Humans! honor its past, and if you place yourself in your 2005-self, you'll have fun, but in the end, this game ends up not being a remake, but a relaunch with a nice visual skin.

The Origami King is a fun adventure game with a charming story and clever dialogue. Sadly, it suffers from an identity crisis due to an battle system that is not for everybody.

METACRITIC: Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris had the potential to be a standout game with a dynamic battle system and good RPG mechanics. However, the pacing is agonizingly slow and has unforgivable tecnical issues. Sadly, it's only recomended for fans of the series or players with máximum patience.

Rocket Arena does what it promises. Final Strike Games delivered a shooter that feels different from the rest of what is available on the market thanks to original mechanics that make it a perfect mix between an arena shooter and a party game.

Ghost of Tsushima is a slight surprise. It is an all-around experience which delivers the fantasy of being a mythical samurai warrior. However, not everything shines, especially with the stealth systems, that do not square up, mechanically nor thematically. As the old saying goes, a samurai cannot obey 2 masters, because he dishonors himself. Thus, Ghost of Tsushima is a reminder of why Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2 are generational gems and benchmarks in open world terms.

Marvel's Iron Man VR is the path between a game and a VR experience. Some of its mechanics are very satisfying, but it fails to present the adventure that fans of this character have been dreaming of.

The Isle of Armor is an expansion that does things right, but in the end it feels like an underwhelming experience. The main story leaves a lot to be desired and I can't help but think that some of its improvements should be on the base game.

Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom was never an exceptional platformer - we can even accuse it of being generic - and that remains in its version Rehydrated. What also does not change in this remake is that it is a project that makes good use of its source material. It also looks better with much needed graphical upgrades. A good remake for a decent game.
