Gamers Heroes's Reviews

The second episode of The Walking Dead: Michonne seems like a step back from the original episode, as well as its source material. Its miniseries format is just not proving to be conducive for a fleshed out tale where your choices matter. Hopefully Michonne will pull through and wow gamers and fans alike come Episode 3.

If you are a fan of the Dynasty Warriors or Samurai Warriors games, I think you should give this one a go. The new strategy sessions in between missions is enjoyable and the easy-to-learn combat is the same as it has always been.

For $10 Hitman offers you a lot of quality content to go through. On the other hand for 60$ you will be left feeling bitter because of the lack of content currently. I’d say give it a go at the $10 price point and if you like it buy the season pass for the rest of the missions.

Seeing how PC owners never got the original title, this newest iteration of BlazBlue is practically a no-brainer. It might not be as drastic a change this time around, but those itching for more content and depth can find both in spades here.

7 / 10 - SUPERHOT
Mar 7, 2016

Superhot is a welcome surprise for 2016. As one of the more unique FPS games out there, its style will keep you hooked for its duration. It might not have the legs or depth of its competition, but it makes up for that in terms of sheer style.

Overall Layers Of Fear is a creepy game that misses the scary mark. The experience is worth going through if you have the extra cash but don’t expect to be scared out of your mind by it.

The Walking Dead: Michonne is slowing building a solid framework. There's no clear direction yet, and the personalities of some characters shine brighter than others, but the potential for something great (if familiar) is there.

The Mesolithic setting and the unique opportunity to sample life 10,000 BCE combined with Far Cry’s most iconic features makes it a must buy for those yet to sample the Far Cry franchise but for veteran’s of Ubisoft’s chaotic take on survival, it’s very much more of the same.

Street Fighter V is an unfinished game. The engine present is solid enough, but it could have used much more fleshing out. Like many Capcom releases these days, give this one a few more months (if not years) so the company can iron out the kinks.

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth really does have all the ingredients to be the fantastic game I so hoped it would be, it was just the arranging and delivery of these ingredients that left it falling a little short in areas. Better pacing with the story, more opportunities to explore off the beaten path and a more user-friendly questing feature would have gone a long way but it’s still a game worthy of your time as a Digimon fan.

6 / 10 - Firewatch
Feb 12, 2016

Firewatch has got an interesting style to it, but it just doesn’t have the follow-through. It’s not a terrible game, but rather an undercooked one. Those looking for something new will likely appreciate its unique style, but even the most fervent of fans will be aware of its faults.

Nitroplus Blasterz is one of those games that caters to its audience quite well. Those looking for gratuitous anime fanservice or solid fighting action will eat this game right up, but those wondering what a “Super Sonico” is will be left scratching their heads in confusion.

The game runs about 4-5 hours long depending on which difficulty you play and how long you take to make choices. Overall, if you are into tactical RPGs and like the whole viking aesthetic, you should enjoy this game quite a bit.

The price point is going to be the big killer for this game. It comes in at $49.99 when it seems like it should be a 30$ game. Overall at the price point, I just can’t recommend it to anyone who isn’t big into the franchise already.

It doesn’t matter how many times we pulled it off. Synchronizing a group of players to execute a breach and clear maneuver perfectly, without casualties, was both challenging and rewarding. If only the average player within the community was willing to put in the same effort.

6 / 10 - Just Cause 3

9 / 10 - Fallout 4
Nov 23, 2015

Fallout 4 is not perfect. It’s plagued with minor annoyances and even a few game-breaking exploits but that doesn’t take away from what Bethesda have created in what should easily scoop up Game of the Year across the board. Fallout 4 is a very S.P.E.C.I.A.L. kind of game and one every fan of the open-world RPG should experience.
