MotoGP 23 is not a game for everybody, and even the fans of arcade or semi-arcade racing will probably have a hard time enjoying it, even though there are improvements compared to last year's release, it still doesn't offer enough even for the simulation fans to jump on it right away.

The three pillars of Street Fighter 6 are accessibility, online features and a huge amount of content at the time of release. If you are a fighting fan, you are in for a treat this year as we still have Mortal Kombat 1 and possibly Tekken 8 to look forward to, although it would be extremely difficult for the other two to stand up to SF6.

The Bunker is a great addition to the Amnesia series and shows that Frictional Games is on the right path, and even though it doesn't offer as much quality as the very first game, it's still an atmospheric survival horror and is the best in the genre this year.

As an AA title, The Last Case of Benedict Fox offers a lot of value, and its inclusion in Microsoft Game Pass makes it available to a wider range of audience. It may not revolutionize the Metroidvania genre, but creates a lot of potential for future games to take advantage of.

The new release of Layers of Fear is one of the best and most complete packages in the horror genre; one that improves the first game substantially and takes its story further forward with new DLCs. More work could have been done on the second game, nevertheless, this package is the best way to experience the whole franchise and is definitely recommended to any fan of the genre.

Lego 2K Drive is sure fun to play, but paying the full price for a game that doesn't exactly follow industry standards when it comes to season pass content and in-game purchases might not be a very good idea.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is so broken on every level that just proves that having enough material and a rich universe to work with doesn't necessarily guarantee a good outcome if you don't know how to make a video game.

Some server issues aside, Diablo IV is the evolutionary game that the fans were waiting for. It's one of the most complete Action RPGs ever made, and with its solid story, much-improved narrative, super deep character development mechanisms, and superb visuals and atmosphere could become the new benchmark for the genre.

System Shock Remake might not be without flaws, but remaking one of the greatest games ever made after almost 3 decades was never an easy task to start with. Nevertheless, the Remake is solid enough to give the new generation of gamers a taste of one of the pioneers of the video games industry.

After the release of Breath of the Wild back in 2017, the hype for the sequel was so extraordinarily high that many expected that Nintendo might fail to deliver; but those people were brutally proven wrong by the release of Tears of the Kingdom. At this point, Tears of the Kingdom is not just a video game; it's more of a benchmark or platform for other developers to look at and get inspiration and then probably fail to come even close to it.

As much as we love Arkane Studios and their works, Redfall exceptionally disappoints in almost every aspect, and it seems that there is still a long way ahead for Arkane to polish all the issues up to the standards.

Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened targets a very specific group of gamers and delivers for them. It's definitely not for everybody, and if you are mainstream gamer with no interest in detective and puzzle oriented games, you can probably skip this one.

Dead Island 2 may not be the next great thing you were waiting for, but it has enough on offer to convince you and a group of friends to spend over 20 hours blowing zombies apart.

Mile 0 not only fails to improve on Road 96, but also fails to meet the same standards, and if you are not already in love with Road 96's world, you are better off skipping Mile 0 and spending your time and money elsewhere.

Rally Adventure may shine when it comes to visuals and pure entertainment, but as an expansion pack for the glorious Forza Horizon 5, you'd expect a much more comprehensive package. The substandard design of the roads and the nonexistence of official Rally rules are the main reasons why Rally Adventure is far behind the competition and it seems that Playground's new policy is dragging the Forza series into a repetitive cycle.
