EA Sports WRC is a rally simulator that is brimming with content, but leaves you feeling uneven. Many modes and options feel half-throttled, as if they don't give everything they could, while the technical section doesn't take advantage of all the power of current systems, in addition to presenting flaws.

Considered inside the long trajectory of the Yakuza franchise, this is a secondary chapter, as you can see in the digital format, the lenght or the mechanics, but it works really well as a bridge between the game from 2020 and the game that will be released in 2024. Few games can compite with this one in terms of script, characters, minigames...

Don't try to compare this game to anything recent. Air Twister is a one-of-a-kind piece, the product of the whim of a genius mind that, if it manages to connect with you, will make your imagination run wild without any further worries. Otherwise... Well, you've always been interested in seeing an elephant with wings.

The Invincible is a walking simulator that, starting from a good story, fails to adapt it to a video game in a satisfactory way. It's a slow game, with accessory and sometimes unnecessary mechanics that at times feels more like a visual novel with playable "globs". And that's a shame, because there was potential in its atmosphere.

It's a far cry from being the shooter of the year, but it has a nostalgic "I don't know what" that makes you want to play, especially if you freaked out with the uninhibited action of the movies.

WarioWare: Move It! recovers the crazy and irreverent essence of the series with a new installment that puts the entire weight of the gameplay on the JoyCon, and the absurd poses, with good results. Add multiplayer modes to bore, from Story mode to a variety of co-op and competitive experiences, and you've got FUN at its best.

One of the games with the most personality of the year, offering a quiet, but increasingly interesting experience. Ideal to escape from the noise of the big blockbusters and let yourself be surprised little by little.

Song of Nunu awakens the child in us with a classic narrative adventure that is humble in terms of playability, but that manages to catch you thanks to the charisma of its characters and a story full of feeling and emotion. Its excessive simplicity hinders the result, but makes it an ideal game for the youngest members of the family.

EA Sports UFC 5 is a great fighting game that recreates this successful competition like never before, both its staging and its beastly side thanks to a spectacular damage system and great modeling of the fighters. Although in general it is a continuity game in many aspects, the online Career mode is one of its great successes.

Alan Wake 2 is a brilliant survival horror that combines the surrealism of Twin Peaks, the investigations of True Detective and the paranormal elements of the SCP Foundation, but it is also the new graphical ceiling of the generation. And above all, it's a Remedy game; and it is glorious.

Dave the Diver is one of the best indie games of 2023, plain and simple. Not only is it tremendously fun and original, but it's also long, has a very careful audio-visual plot and they keep adding more content. And he exudes a sympathy that is difficult to see today.

Having these games on current platforms is fantastic and yes, they are still masterpieces that we would recommend with our eyes closed. But a series like Metal Gear Solid deserves more than just a compilation without any substantial novelty, which seems more like an attempt to silence fans than an honest way to revitalize Snake.

Ghostrunner 2 demands the speed of a speedrunner, the skill of a no-hitter, and the patience of a Buddhist monk. Its difficulty doesn't make it suitable for all palates, but if you agree with its game philosophy, here is an injection of adrenaline that you will enjoy until the end.

City Skylines 2 is a great city management and creation game, with a bright future ahead thanks to updates, mods and user-created content, which already has a range of interesting options, although the whole is weighed down by poor optimization that still has a little way to go to unfold its full potential.

Gargoyles Remastered is a proper remastering of a Sega Genesis classic (unreleased in Europe) that goes beyond the typical Disney Classic by updating graphics and sound... But that's it: the gameplay is as clunky and frustrating as it was in 1995, and with no extras or galleries, the package is very sloppy.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder isn't just a breath of fresh air for 2D platformers, it's a masterclass in how to update a game concept that's been a hit for more than three decades, and do it successfully, without losing the essence. A surprising platformer where the unexpected is the real star.

Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 Turbocharged is not a must-buy sequel for those who enjoyed the first game, but it has certainly managed to add enough incentives to round off an arcade formula that is as fun as it is inspiring. This is a more complete game, better planned in its progression and with a lot of content.

Insomniac dresses Marvel's Spider-Man 2 in the black suit, improving to the extreme all the mechanics of the previous titles and adding new features that work in perfect symbiosis. The result is a well-rounded adventure that swings to the top and touches the ceiling of superhero games... And a dream for any Spider-Man fan.

Very good play of a Sonic Team that has managed to offer the sensations that veteran fans wanted, but with incentives and modern features. It shines almost as brightly as a Chaos Emerald.

Despite its many problems, Lords of the Fallen has managed to conquer us by combining the soulslike of always with a mechanic as novel and interesting as the jump between worlds. If they correct their failures, we could be facing one of the great surprises of 2023 and one of the best soulslike of recent years.
