Hobby Consolas's Reviews

Detective Pikachu is a remarkable spin-off, which can be enjoyed thanks to the winks it makes to the Pokémon franchise, his humor and, above all, his protagonist: a peculiar and mocking Pikachu. It may not be especially hard and repetitive, but it's a game worth playing.

93 / 100 - Far Cry 5
Mar 26, 2018

Simply put, Far Cry 5 is the best Far Cry game to date. It has the best story, the best progression and introduces a lot of changes (for the good) while maintaining that explosive old formula that works so freaking well. God Bless Hope County

78 / 100 - Sea of Thieves
Mar 23, 2018

Sea of Thieves shines the most when playing with friends. The gameplay is both fun and accessible, and the technical aspects of the game are truly wonderful, but everything is weighed down by the lack of more contents and of greater variety

85 / 100 - A Way Out
Mar 22, 2018

The results of a bold idea, which stays with us until the end and offers a very clever foundation for the gameplay. It's a little too short and, sometimes, the gameplay is too basic in order for the story to advance, but A Way Out is one of those gaming experiences you NEED to try at least once.

75 / 100 - Bad Dudes
Mar 21, 2018

The beat'em up classic Bad Dudes vs Dragon Ninja lands on Switch with a pixel perfect conversion that still provides fun, 30 years later. Maybe it falls short on option and modes, but all those that loved the arcade version, will enjoy this port and the possibility to play it anywhere.

Shantae and the Pirate's Curse is the very same game from 2014 (even from the graphical side), with few improvements, like rumble HD. A fast port that Shantae's hardcore fans and newcomers will enjoy, but for all those that already played it on 3DS, Wii U, PC or Xbox One, there are better options out there, like Half-Genie Hero (also on Switch).

One of the most interesting stories in the franchise, which stands afloat, technically speaking, in the current generation. It suffers in comparison with how much AC Origins improved the mechanics.

Ni No Kuni II is a masterpiece combination of Ghibli style graphics, Joe Hisaishi music works and classic J-RPG gameplay (Level-5 signature). We love it´s colorful characters, moving storyline and varied game styles.

74 / 100 - Clustertruck
Mar 16, 2018

Clustertruck debuts on Switch retaining the "pure platform" vibe from the PC version, with the core mechanics working like a charm in portable mode. The "jump over trucks" seems silly at first, but all the variations make it interesting till the end. It's a shame that, as in other console versions, the leaderboards and level editor are missing.

We love Yakuza´s story, its locations that seem "alive" and its many minigames (including classic Sega arcades such as Puyo Puyo, Virtua Fighter 5 or Super Hang On). The song of Life is the perfect ending for this saga.

Attack on Titan 2 is pure fanservice. Omega Force an Koei Tecmo have made a title clearly focused on anime fans. But it is undeniable that development is not surprising and it is certainly repetitive. Even so, it will please, and very much, to the fans of the work of Hajime Isayama.

78 / 100 - Frantics
Mar 15, 2018

Frantics delivers a fun multiplayer experience for anyone, even if they are not familiar with game controllers. This Playlink game includes 15 minigames

71 / 100 - Surviving Mars
Mar 15, 2018

Haemimont Games delivers a Sci Fi RTS deep and original. But Surviving Mars is hard on the control side (al least console version) and we miss some more variety.

Kirby is an enchanting, colorful and well designed platform game, which is even better in four player local coop. Sadly, the game (which feels like a direct sequel to Kirby´s Adventure for Wii) is too easy and short.

Life is Strange: Before the Storm presents itself without riddles, but with purity, to offer us an excellent narrative adventure that helps us to complement Chloe's story and other holes of Arcadia Bay's life. Despite its shorter duration, it has not lost its charm. The extra episode, Farewell, it will thrill you to tears.

Although the remaster work is closer to none (and theres even some little details from the originals that have been lost), these are two of the best stylish action games of all time (and Devil May Cry 2). If you've never played these games, this is the perfect time to do it: you'll hit the jackpot.

80 / 100 - Q.U.B.E. 2

The franchise gains interest with a sequel with a little more personality and solid mechanics, which challenge us without being frustrating.

The remastered "open-world-arcade-driving-classic" is as fun as the original version... but it seems that team behind this new version had been working with the foot off the pedal. Even with better textures, it's hard to not remember the achievements of the original (60 fps, great graphics...), making the remaster even more "just fine".

An example of a well delivered DLC, which offers an interesting and different approach to the main game. You will enjoy Egypt once again, despite doing the same routines.

81 / 100 - Total War: Arena
Mar 7, 2018

Total War Arena takes the best parts of the Total War saga battles and brings them together in quick strategic matches that are both exciting and fun, but they are weighed down by a slow progression system and the lack of a more varied offer of game modes
