For everything it had going for it Dark Rose Valkyrie ends up being a missed opportunity. It threads on the well-beaten path of its predecessors. The few new noteworthy changes such as picking out the traitor among your ranks, engaging combat and the relatively enjoyable story do make for a small breath of fresh air, but they are let down by the somewhat lackluster execution.
If you have grown tired of waiting for the fated day when F-Zero will return, Fast RMX Racing will have you covered. It offers 15 vehicles, 30 unique courses and multiplayer for any occasion. For a $20 title Fast RMX Racing should be a no-brainer for any fan of high-speed futuristic racers.
One of the most exhilarating and satisfying fighting games to date.
Blaster Master Zero is an enjoyable albeit brief trip through memory lane. What lacks in replay value it makes up with the fact that it is just so damn enjoyable. Exploring the intricately designed underground ruins on foot and in Sophia the 3rd all while slowly acquiring additional abilities that unlock new areas makes for an addictive experience which you won't put down until you see the credits rolling. Blaster Master Zero falls among the best games in the series, and will be equally enjoyable for newcomers as well as longtime fans wanting to re-experience this childhood classic.
Drive Girls isn't worth your time or money at almost any price.
Button-mashing is rarely this fun.
If you own a Nintendo Switch there is absolutely no excuse to not go and pick up Mario Kart 8 Deluxe right now. Even if you put an insane amount of time into the game when it came out on the Wii U, just the fact that you can jump into a race wherever, whenever and with whoever you want makes this a no-brainer. The smart steering and auto acceleration mean everyone will be able to enjoy. If you are still deciding whether or not the Switch is for you, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe might very well be the system seller you are looking for.
It's a great DLC that offers more of one of NieR: Automata's best aspects.
Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 doesn't really change anything fundamentally, but it brings Guilty Gear Xrd one step closer to perfection. If you still haven't bought Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator, REV 2 is a perfect way to jump into the action since it includes all the previous DLCs. If on the other hand you already have Revelator, you can purchase just the REV 2 update for only 19.99. If you are still not convinced then you can always check out the PlayStation Plus demo.
Disgaea 5 Complete offers the best of both worlds. The convenience of playing it both at the comfort of a large HDTV and bringing it on the go mean that this is one adventure you won't ever have to put down. If you already played the hell out of Disgaea 5 on the PlayStation 4 and bought the accompanying DLC missions, there isn't much new here to keep you entertained, but if you want to dip your feet for the first time in this rich and crazy series, Disgaea 5 Complete will keep you glued to the screen for a very long time.
Operation Babel: New Tokyo Legacy does very little to improve upon its predecessor. Still the game is overall an enjoyable experience if not a bit bland at times. If you are a fan of dungeon crawlers you might want to have a look, otherwise you won't be missing out on much if you skip this title.
With 6 new character routes, there's certainly still a draw for players of previous titles.
For every novel aspect the game brings to the table it fumbles in delivering a meaningful and engaging experience. It is interesting to experiment around with the massive number of species and create a beautiful world but it all becomes repetitive rather quickly. Considering that the developers already planned out a sequel we can only hope they will be able iron out its issues and add everything they initially wanted.
Undeniably one of the best Musou games.
Being an interesting historical item sadly doesn't make Fatal Fury all that fun these days.
A nuanced masterpiece.
One of the most refreshing and taxing puzzlers yet.
Stands alongside the best games available on PS4.
A stripped back game of duelling, clashing, and waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
You can respect how well it fits in with the series' overall lore.
