PSX Brasil's Reviews

The Pillars of the Earth is an adaptation of the best-selling homonymous novel by Ken Follet, set in a historical period of civil war in the 12th century England. With over a thousand pages of story to tell, the game is divided into three books, this being the first. It is practically an interactive novel, allowing the player to have a proactive involvement in the story by controlling three of their characters and making decisions about how they respond and act, thus shaping their personality. This will likely modify the story, but that is yet to be proven on the next books. Despite being packed with a lot of political and religious intrigues, the game has a very slow pace in the dialogues and actions of the characters, which hopefully may be improved in the future.

Rock of Ages 2 shows the human history like no other game. It is a beatiful game but unfortunately very short. It's possible to say that Rock of Ages 2 is a piece of art, much more than a game. It is a must-have for lovers of art and human history with a unique sense of humor.

Zero Time Dilemma is an incredible game and a worthy conclusion for the Zero Escape series that finally arrives on the PlayStation 4. It's transition from the Vita to the PS4 was handled with a lot of care, being done in the best way possible.

90 / 100 - Yakuza Kiwami
Aug 29, 2017

Yakuza Kiwami is an excellent point of entry for newcomers and an awesome follow-up for those that played Yakuza 0, and it is also the best way to know how everything began or to relive how Kiryu's saga started. Kiwami is a tighter experience when compared to other Yakuza games, since it focuses in its crime story. Kiwami doesn't level up to Yakuza 0, however, it is an excellent game within the series and a must-play for any player.

The third episode delivers a good balance between action and character development, having a satisfactory ending. Although still below the expectations, the Telltale's series is in a good position to gain altitude and finally take off in its final chapters.

80 / 100 - Neon Drive
Aug 27, 2017

Neon Drive is a rhythm game extremely hard with a cyberpunk atmosphere. There are only 8 stages, but all varied and with unique challenges. The higher difficulty levels will make you throw the controller away, as well as the Endurance mode. It is not a game for everyone.

The adventure continues for Jesse and his/her gang of old and new friends. The second episode for this season of Minecraft: Story Mode introduces the new villain: the Admin. This all-powerful being will put the characters to the test in deadly challenges, in order for them to prove their worth and save, once again, Beacontown from destruction. The story is well-paced, with small surprises and twists throughout the episode, making it far superior when compared with previous ones.

95 / 100 - F1 2017
Aug 24, 2017

F1 2017 is even better than its predecessor, something that can be considered quite an achievement. The expanded career mode is the key point of the game, and the return of classic cars adds even more to the whole package. All this and the refined gameplay makes F1 2017 the definitive experience for F1 addicts.

95 / 100 - Undertale
Aug 23, 2017

If you missed the opportunity to play Undertale on PC and you're a fan of retro games that learn from past mistakes of their genre and talk to the player through their mechanics, this game is undoubtedly a modern classic that is essential to you.

70 / 100 - ChromaGun
Aug 23, 2017

ChromaGun is a fun and challenging game, and these characteristics make it very enjoyable and should satisfy fans of puzzle games. The lack of more content and its weak performance on the PlayStation 4 disturb it, but it's still a good game.

82 / 100 - The Long Dark
Aug 22, 2017

Surviving is difficult and for every mistake you make you are going to be punished. The Long Dark shows this the right way with an exellent gameplay, although some technical issues can get in the way sometimes. The campaign mode has its problems, but since the game is based on episodes, it can be improved and the game's whole mystery encourages you to follow its story.

78 / 100 - Observer
Aug 22, 2017

Observer has excellent graphics, interesting gameplay and horror which plays with the gamer's fear and psychological through the memories found along the game. Although there are framerate issues in some moments of the game, it doesn't make Observer a game not to be played by the ones who love horror games and the cyberpunk universe.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is a great spin-off of the Uncharted franchise, featuring Chloe and Nadine, who steal the scene and it turns out to be a great change for the series. With a good amount of exploration, cinematic action and a fun adventure, you will find all the elements that the franchise became known for in the 6 hours of campaign. It's the same formula, but it's a welcome game for the fans.

86 / 100 - Matterfall
Aug 19, 2017

At this point, it sounds redundant to say that Housemarque has created another excellent Twin Stick shooter. Matterfall is fast, intense and really fun. Even if its limited content prevents it from becoming one of Housemarque's best, it is a must-have for fans of the genre.

95 / 100 - Collar X Malice
Aug 18, 2017

Collar X Malice is a visual novel that doesn't fear making the player feel something, be it tension, fear, caring for the characters or the curiosity for the reasons and motivations behind their actions. It's a visual novel that holds the player's attentions the same way the best books do, motivating him to complete every route and know every detail of this incredible and captivating story. It's both an obligatory game for the fans of the genre and one of the best options for those who want to get to know it.

78 / 100 - Eliosi's Hunt
Aug 18, 2017

Eliosi's Hunt is the debut title of TDZ Games. Inspired by games such as Crash Bandicoot and Metal Slug, it mixes action and platforming in extremely challenging stages that will put the player's skills to the limit, being a rewarding experience. There's an interesting mechanic at checkpoints, in which players have to choose between saving their progress or receive a bonus on speed. It is a clever and tricky feature, with checkpoints placed on critical locations. The campaign tends to be short, but collectibles and other challenges give it a good replay value. It is a fair package given its small price and the good amount of challenge and fun provided.

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice has an interesting plot, a good fighting mechanic and excellent graphics. The quality of the audio is out of this world. The problem is the combat variety (in the end, you'll be bored) and due to the focus on the narrative, many people may find the game monotonous. However, those who give a chance will find a good story.
