Cultured Vultures's Reviews

2 / 10.0 - DayZ
Jun 7, 2019

Dated, buggy, and irredeemably wearisome, DayZ on PS4 offers an experience as empty and uninteresting as Chernarus itself that was certainly not worth waiting nearly half a decade for.

A charming facade can't save Buildings Have Feelings Too from its own poor technical framework, gameplay design issues, and lack of player accessibility options.

Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood has a lot of interesting ideas, but the boring and repetitive gameplay and lack of compelling story mean it fails to make a lasting impression.

Monster Jam: Steel Titans is not a good game, and goes from being meh to tiresome very quickly.

With the combat mechanics and systems falling short at providing much-needed depth, WHK2 can only be tolerated in short bursts before becoming mind numbing. All too often I found myself wishing I was playing something else and if a game is making you feel that way, it's not a great sign.

3 / 10.0 - Agony
Jun 4, 2018

While it may have some interesting ideas, Agony's awful optimisation, monotonous gameplay, and infuriating trial and error loop make it a sin to play.

3 / 10.0 - Hello Neighbor

Frustrating in almost everything it tries to do, Hello Neighbor's interesting concept is completely wasted by its execution.

Its fantastic art and concept cannot help Mainlining on Switch from being an absolute chore to play.

3 / 10.0 - Dreambreak
Sep 12, 2017

Terrible controls, non-existent world-building, and all-round sloppy execution makes DreamBreak a game that even the most ardent of retro gamers would find difficult to love.

3 / 10.0 - Syberia 3

3.5 / 10.0 - Daymare: 1998
Apr 28, 2020

Daymare: 1998's commendable ambition is unfortunately not matched by its budget, creating a jumbled and frustrating trudge through survival horror's past.

3.5 / 10.0 - Riot: Civil Unrest
Feb 4, 2019

Frankly, Riot communicates nothing of importance about the conflicts it bases itself on and can barely support itself as a strategy game. I don't predict a riot, but I do predict giving this title a miss.

Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires has some promise, but it's learned nothing from the past and possesses no soul. This installment doesn't deserve a warrior's death - or life, for that matter.

4 / 10.0 - King's Bounty II
Aug 23, 2021

Just like many of its undead characters, King's Bounty 2 fails to revive a venerable franchise due to its lack of innovation, archaic design decisions, and grindy backtracking.

Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster is an unforgiving, borderline nihilistic tale of ruin that doesn't even let me have fun when I try. The updates to this fourth different version are not enough to justify the price. You either see it as iconic or moronic. Either way, you would be right.

Neighbours back From Hell has very little in the way of replayability, variety and overall imagination. While this may be a miserable experience for new players, some fans of the original might love it for what it is.
