8 / 10.0 - Until Dawn
Aug 11, 2017

Until Dawn is a really impressive game. While I wasn’t the biggest fan of the typical teen horror genre, I still found this game seriously enjoyable. I would love to see more developers create games like this. The lack of guns, platforming and any other standard game play elements didn’t bother me at all. It was a fresh break away from the norm that was very welcome. The visuals were strong and it was backed up by great animation and acting. The level of polish here was very high. The story is very subjective and some people may absolutely love it. By the end of the game I loved it, but like all teen horrors you will be left wondering “why the hell are they splitting up!” and all the other typical stupid mistakes than teenagers make in these movies. If you are looking for a scare, pick this game up! It will scare the crap out of you.

8 / 10.0 - ZOMBI
Nov 6, 2015

Zombi is an all round good zombie game. It doesn’t stand out above the rest as being a “must play” game, but if you are a zombie fan, you should most definitely check this game out. It wont be the best zombie game you ever played, but it’s fun. Good zombies, good survival, not a bad story and best of all it’s cheap!

Once you get over initial learning curve the addiction to the game will begin to set in. Growing and harvesting crops is surprisingly fun. Learning about all the different machines and how to use them is fun all on its own. You will constantly strive toward getting more efficient in your farming techniques. There is so much enjoyment to be had in upgrading your machines and simply growing your farm. Watching the money roll into your bank account makes this game far more addictive than you might expect.

8 / 10.0 - The Turing Test
Aug 24, 2017

The Turing Test has quite a few flaws that hold it back, but for a game that is a low budget, digital only game, it has a huge amount to offer for it's price. Depending on how quick you get through the puzzles, you could get close to 10 hours from this game, which is great value. None of the issues with the game are game breaking. There was a lot of potential for this to be a much better game than it was, but overall, it was still a good game that I enjoyed playing.

8 / 10.0 - Valley
Aug 13, 2018

The story from start to finish holds up very well and keeps you interested. The mixture of nature and a darker 60s era industrialism creates a very unusual theme. The level design could have been better, but the time you spend running around in the L.E.A.F suit is so much fun that getting lost is not so bad. The moral aspects of the game stand out very strong and will keep this game in your mind long after you have completed it.

A dark and unusual story that is enriched by one of the impressive and unconventional hero’s you will ever see. While some tedious puzzles hamper the experience, there is enough strength in the story to make it worthwhile. Senua’s willpower and strength will be something you admire from start to finish. The combat is limited but fluid. The hard hitting attacks make the occational battle something to look forward to. Hellblade is an unusual game that will have a strong emotional impact on you. They may not necessarily be emotions you want to invoke, but it seems as though this is what the game sets out to achieve. This is a game you are unlikely to forget.

8 / 10.0 - Shooty Fruity
Jul 1, 2018

A welcome break from the more hardcore style of VR shooters. Blowing up fruit while having to focus on processing items on a conveyor belt is hectic fun. The visual style helps relieve any stress you might have from having to multitask like this. Shooty Fruity is light hearted fun that focuses in you having a good time rather than trying to survive. It is a fairly short game with some interesting mechanics that are a welcome change from the standard shooters we are used to.

8 / 10.0 - Accounting+
Dec 30, 2017

Accounting+ costs around €10, which is fairly cheap. The game only lasts about an hour which is unfortunately short considering how much fun it is. I was very let down when the game ended because I was having way too much fun. I wouldn't normally suggest that anyone pay €10 for a 1-hour game, but this is definitely an exception. If you like humour that is rude and offensive, then you will like this game. If you are new to VR then you most definitely need to pick this up and make sure you play it with 2 move controllers.

8 / 10.0 - We Happy Few
Aug 11, 2019

We Happy Few is a fantastic game but is not without its flaws. The combat and stealth leave you wanting that little bit more. Stealth, combat and crafting have a lot of potential but are implemented very minimalistically. The game manages to save itself through the delivery of an incredibly unique and almost magical world that will quickly make you forget about the shortcomings. From the spooky Bobbies to the drugged up citizens. We Happy Few paints a colorful picture of a dark world. When things are looking gloomy, you can always pop a Joy!

Road To Eden is a fantastic addition to the turn-based genre. A unique world with an unusual lineup of characters will capture your interest and keep you enjoying things until the very end. While the combat can get boring and repetitive, the story and other aspects of the game keep you engaged and prevent you getting sick of it too easily. This franchise has a very promising future.

8 / 10.0 - Death Stranding
Nov 1, 2019

Death Stranding is a game with a fantastic and uniquely interesting story. Backed with a strong cast of experienced actors, the game manages to tell the story flawlessly. The gameplay doesn’t quite live up to the same level. The delivery aspects are fun and in its own, tells a story. It just gets quite repetitive over time and leaves you wanting a bit more diversity to the delivery missions. Overall, Death Stranding should be seen as a very successful first project for Kojima productions and is hopefully a sign of many more to come.

8 / 10.0 - The Outer Worlds
Dec 10, 2019

What The Outer Worlds offers in artistic creativity, it lacks in quest diversity. Exploring the colony is really exciting and you will lose yourself in everything it has to offer. unfortunately, you will end up performing a lot of the same menial tasks throughout the relatively short campaign. You have access to an incredible world but the quests never take full advantage of it. There is far too much focus on the political problems of the colony and not enough action and adventure. You never feel like the hero of the story, you feel more like the middle man between the people that are actually important.

If you enjoyed the last game, you will definitely enjoy this one. Being in control of Spiderman is a delight in every single way. Fast travel is a forgotten mechanic as you won't want to waste an opportunity to travel via web-slinging. With such a strong foundation and a rock-solid game that came before it, Miles Morales had some high expectations. In many ways, it delivered what you would want from a Spiderman adventure. It falls short with a weaker lineup of villains and a less interesting story. Marvel's Spiderman was just too good.

Skyward Sword is definitely one of the better games in the Zelda series. Some experimental ideas and mechanics were implemented that breathe some fresh air into the dungeons and puzzles throughout the adventure. When viewed from the timeline where Breath of the Wild exists, it is really interesting to see how Nintendo took the franchise from Twilight Princess to where it is now. Skyward Sword is absolutely a must-play for anyone who is a fan of the franchise.

Death Stranding: Directors Cut adds a lot of new content that greatly enhances the base game. For those who have never played Death Stranding, the Directors Cut will provide a version of the game that is far more exciting and enjoyable than the original. For returning players, you may not find enough substance to make it a worthwhile purchase. The firing range, racetrack and new mission will give you some moments of fun but unless you plan on playing the game from the start, the new content will not occupy your time for long.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is a massive step in the right direction for the Pokemon franchise which has started to feel a bit stale in recent years. An exciting new way to catch and battle Pokemon is a much welcome introduction and is a lot of fun. The open world experience of having wild Pokemon roaming free in the wild is what the franchise has been screaming out for and we finally got it. Despite getting the most important things right, the game falls a little short of the levels of quality you might expect from a Pokemon game. The visual quality is poor, the map feels like an AI could have designed it and the games menus for tracking progress and travelling are in need of a lot of quality of life improvements. Flaws and all, Pokemon Legends: Arceus is a lot of fun and should be used as a stepping stone to help the Pokemon franchise evolve.

The Last of Us Part II Remastered for PS5 refreshes the acclaimed title with enhanced visuals and intriguing new content, including previously unreleased levels and the "No Return" roguelike mode. While the visual upgrades are polished, they fall short of fully utilizing PS5's capabilities, especially when compared to other titles. This remaster, primarily appealing to new players or franchise fans, serves more as a bridge to Naughty Dog's future endeavors rather than a standalone landmark.

7.5 / 10.0 - Mad Max
Aug 13, 2018

For a game based on a move, Mad Max was a surprising treat. The vehicle combat was a lot of fun and very intense once you have unlocked the upgrades.. The melee combat also works quite well and makes the base attacks really enjoyable. The story is nothing to sing about, but does a good job at filling you in on how the world works now that modern civilization is a thing of the past. The visual quality is ok, but regular and severe frame rate drops impact the game quite hard when the action is heating up. Base and fortress attacks will keep you entertained for a while but the work to build them up to the point where you can make use of them is a waste since you have to leave the area once it is complete.

7.5 / 10.0 - Maize
Feb 22, 2018

Maize is not without its flaws, but it more than makes up for them with a unique and humorous story. By no means is it the best puzzle game I have ever played, but it is still a good one. This game stands out from other similar games by being funny and so distinctly strange. For the price, it is a game that is well worth picking up if you fancy a quick puzzle game and a few laughs.

7.5 / 10.0 - 12 orbits
Apr 26, 2018

A simple concept with a very clean design makes this game a nice treat to play if you are stuck in a confined space for a period of time. The gameplay is very easy to explain to people who would not consider themselves gamers and the rules are so simple that you will have no problem playing it with children. The lack of online multiplayer prevents this game from being anything more than a travel game. Although it is a shame, for the price range this game is a worthy purchase for those who travel frequently.
