Extremely challenging but imaginative levels with references to many classic games of history are great for hardcore players. However, newbies, casual and regular players will have much more trouble and less fun.

Yu Suzuki has done something original here. Definitely not for everyone, but it has its charm. Unfortunately, it also has its flaws. It is hard to get into the game when one of the bosses is a clock. The final boss is just a geometric formation. The story is there, but it's as if it's not there at all. The gameplay isn't bad, but even that gets old after a while.

It's one of those games that requires a fair amount of patience and tenacity. With elements of roguelike and Metroidvania, the gameplay is great, but relentless and depressing at times. But for stubborn and persistent players, the game will reward their persistence and dying with great fun.

The action is fun. That's what you'll enjoy most. You'll love the new dynamic lighting, the cheats add a little something extra, the game runs like clockwork on every platform, and there're even motion controls on the Switch. But multiplayer is lacking, the textures are ugly, and the sound is downright bad.

A remarkable game that turns you into a mad doctor for a few hours, complete with a dose of violence and morbidity. The idea is fine, the look is acceptable too, but the in-game activities are rather few and, more importantly, repetitive to death.

Overall, Avatar is a strangely designed game that offers something different than you would expect from an action-adventure game in this world. A fine continuation of a successful series, but you can see that the authors are sticking to this theme longer and slowly running out of ideas. The fun is kept up by a good campaign with elements of humour and you might even try out the co-op. This time it's still enough. But the developers might not consider a fifth installment, even though it's their most successful brand, because the fatigue of the material would probably show significantly.

Czech developers have brought a unique combination of genres that works great. The management train ride combined with military strategic missions, RPG development and survival elements is unique and extremely complex. In addition, the authors have captured well an unseen period and a little-known stage of Czechoslovak history.

The developers promised that Asterix & Obelix: Slap Them All! 2 would be a better game than the first, and they succeeded. But it's just a little bit better. While the game is fun and more varied, and still looks and sounds great, it's short and still pretty shallow in the end. What saves it is the fun co-op and the extended combat system. The story isn't bad either, and shows us that the developers would like to continue the series.
