VideoGamer's Reviews

A welcome addition to the main game, The Consequence deepens The Evil Within while being satisfying in its own right.

Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China feels like an Assassin's Creed game without the sense of adventure and scope, and a Prince of Persia game without the cool platforming and exciting combat.

8 / 10 - Titan Souls
Apr 12, 2015

Titan Souls is one of the most interesting titles I've played this year. Some issues aside, this is a unique and memorable experience.

Absurd, gruesome, ridiculous fun.

A worthy technical upgrade, but changes to enemy spawn locations serve to add frustration and highlight issues with the original release.

9 / 10 - Axiom Verge

Whereas many modern takes on classic retro genres fall foul of style over substance, this has been built with such skill that it doesn't need to rely on our annoying fondness of the past to impress.

If you're new to the series or looking to jump in, you could well be playing this until Gearbox release Borderlands 3.

10 / 10 - Bloodborne

A superb, intelligent evolution of the series.

Episode 4 confirms what we already knew about Resident Evil Revelations 2: that it's a success, mixing and matching elements of Resi's old and new – while throwing in Raid mode – to good effect.

Hardline doesn't sufficiently evolve interesting mechanics in the terrible single-player and is only saved by an at times enjoyable multiplayer component.

Enjoyable enough, but overall it adds little to Revelations 2.

The extreme highs carry Ori and the Blind Forest through to greatness if not quite flawlessness. Rarely is a game able to be so devilish in its gameplay yet so touching in its story.

The Assignment is a reasonably-sized add-on which fleshes out The Evil Within's story while building on what made it so enjoyable in the first place.

DmC Definitive Edition's customisation tools that allow the player to tweak gameplay to suit their own style is what makes this an excellent remaster for newcomers and veterans alike.

6 / 10 - White Night
Mar 4, 2015

Had White Night been more of a ride, dragging you through rather than slowing things down, its subtly unsettling tone and at times nerve-shredding moments would have had a much greater impact.

Interesting co-op play and a decent cliffhanger sees Revelations 2 really get going.

5 / 10 - ScreamRide
Mar 2, 2015

As a downloadable £15 game some of Screamride's issues could have been easily overlooked, but at double that price it's a harder ride to sell.

Pneuma can appear pompous and over-reaching, and those who buy it for the puzzles alone will walk away disappointed. As a package though, it's worth checking out.

An intriguing start to Capcom's episodic adventure.
