It may be more modest in its aspirations than the sprawling open-ended RPG some may have expected, but like a wolfpack on the hunt Earthblood is very efficient at what it does. Its story, characters and scope may leave something to be desired but its use of the lore is intriguing and its stealth and combat components are equally compelling. A pleasant surprise, Earthblood hopefully bodes well for future World of Darkness games.
Monstrum Nox might play close to the vest in just about every aspect, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a quality JRPG. Sometimes a comfort game like this is just what’s needed, and Ys IX certainly fits the bill checking all the boxes that you can expect out of a game of its kind. It’s a very fun and straight to the point adventure that’s well worth your time even if it doesn’t break the norm in any sort of way whatsoever.
All in all, while I would have been happier with a more complete set of open levels like in the last game, I can’t say I did not enjoy what was there in that regard in Hitman III. There’s plenty of more enjoyment to be hopefully had with all the post-game activities, as well as discovering the mastery objectives in the main story mode. It’s definitely not the best entry in the new trilogy in any stretch, but it’s a good spot for the series to take a breather and let us kids have our fun in its ever-growing sandbox. If we have a say in it, 47 will never be out of a job.
Looked at as a puzzle game, or as a strictly entry-level stealth adventure, El Hijo has a lot to recommend it. It has a distinctive and attractive look, and a charm all of its own. Those looking for a genuinely emergent or inventive stealth experience, however, will be better served elsewhere.
Scott Pilgrim Vs The World: The Game - Complete Edition is most definitely recommended for multiplayer, so if you do indeed have some folks to play it through with, don’t miss the chance to play one of the best looking retro-inspired games around. But if you’re in it only for the single player, you might be left disappointed by how unbalanced it can be.
Cyberpunk 2077 is a classic example of feature creep, resulting in an interesting but extremely buggy experience.

For those who still have a copy of it on PS3 and Xbox One and want to buy and play it again on modern hardware, here’s my tip: only do it if you have an enhanced console to play it on 60 fps. Other than that (and extending to PC users), don’t waste your money on this remaster. But if you never played Hot Pursuit before and like arcade racers, this is the one for you. Get ready for some of the most intense races and police chases ever created on a videogame. You’ll be on the edge of your seat for hours and crave for more!
While I wouldn’t call myself a Call of Duty enthusiast in any shape or form, I can say for sure that I’ve enjoyed playing through each of the entries that I’ve gotten to review over the years. Compared to 2019’s Modern Warfare, I would say that I’m having more fun this year mostly due to the time period that it takes place in and how closely it sticks to the flavor of movies I grew up watching. It’s ridiculous, all over the place and surely dumb, but at the end of the day, a fun ride. Just try and don’t take anything about it too seriously.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is an excellent addition to the modern Assassin’s Creed that doesn’t shy away from what made the franchise so popular in the first place.
Gamers who love it when a plan comes together are better catered to than ever, and while they will enjoy much of Partisans 1941, they may prefer instead to revisit one of the new giants of the genre. This particular war story may be best left to the completists.
Kosmokrats has a funny, well-written story and a great soundtrack, but the somewhat frustrating puzzle design and control can occasionally hamper your enjoyment.
DIRT 5 represents more than the return of a franchise to its “noisiest” days. It is an extremely fun and enjoyable game that will serve as a bridge between the current and the next generation.
Regardless of where you end up playing it, whether it’s on PlayStation 4 or 5, Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a must own.
Watch Dogs: Legion is another competent Ubisoft open-world adventure with plenty to do, and while it manages to communicate its message better than anticipated, it can’t manage to fully commit to it.
To be fair to Serious Sam 4, there is a real thrill to be experienced in the battles when that old, familiar gameplay loop really clicks.
Iron Harvest is a decidedly old-school RTS with some modern trappings, with a bombastic main campaign with a surprisingly well written story.
Trails of Cold Steel IV is as much of an epic as its predecessors in just about every way.
It’s hard to recall the last time I honestly laughed and was so emotionally invested in a game in such a short period of time as I did with this Horace. The fact that it’s now being brought to more systems and storefronts will hopefully put it into more people’s hands and give it the attention it so rightfully deserves. If I ever were to classify a game as a complete gaming experience, very few would make the cut, and I’m ecstatic to say that Horace is most definitely one I would happily do so.
