Serial Gamer Italia's Reviews

Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions, despite not shining for stubbornness and technical sector, turns out to be very fun and engaging even for those who have never heard of Captain Tsubasa; for those who spent their childhood with him, they will find in the title an excellent pastime that will allow them to dive lightly into their memories and experience them from another perspective. If you are looking for hyper-realism, go elsewhere, here you will find goalkeepers flying into goal, smashed and deformed balls, flying twins and many other techniques that make Ronaldo and Messi look like beginners when compared to Japanese fourteen year olds. And all of this is very beautiful.

The new effort of SFL Interactive and Maximum Games unfortunately fails to enchant due to a not too convincing gameplay and a gaming experience that fails to entertain properly due to its repetition after a few sessions, in ways that arise from good ideas but that fail to affect. Together with all this there is also to take into consideration the crazy launch price which settles at around fifty euros which absolutely doesn’t reflect the value of this production which is certainly lower and which could easily be put on sale at a more competitive price like 20 or 30 euros.

In an overview it can be said that Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is just that: a powerful deployment of forces by the publisher and a masterful use of the aforementioned forces by the developer to bring the Flight Simulator series back to the fore in great pomp. The result is exceptional and the most famous flight simulator puts on paper its superiority once again, thanks to unimaginable technologies even just 10 years ago. You are all invited on board: make yourself comfortable (but not too much) and enjoy the flight from start to finish.

Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town fits in today's scene as a balanced and good product, that can be a point of connection between an 16 years old way an audience now totally changed since then, which will still be able to enjoy the title as if it were new or as a welcome return among friends.

After fifteen years it’s difficult to return to the market with the same ideas seen on PS2 and Xbox 360 but THQ Nordic and the guys from Black Forest Games have done a good job especially with regard to the graphics sector and the modernization of the title to bring it to today's standards. Unfortunately, however, the changes did not affect the structure of the game which suffers from the problems already known of the original versions, that is a basic repetition and a series of missions not too articulated with a limited variety. Overall Destroy All Humans! it’s an enjoyable title especially if you are looking for a light-hearted product that allows you to have fun without thinking too much about the details and a thick story.

The game personally didn't drive me crazy but I couldn't even say it's not worth it. In fact, I would recommend it precisely because I really enjoyed the gameplay on the exploratory and combat side, I played it with pleasure and found it very fun and balanced in terms of the actions to be taken. It could be exactly the kind of game for those who don't have much time to play, but want to try a little something fun and not overly challenging.

Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris is a fun RPG for fans of the series, but it requires a lot of effort from the player to learn its rules and settings. The pace is really mixed at times and the various glitches make it frustrating, but exploring the huge environments of Underworld and battling the big beasts with your favorite character is fun if you can overcome these problems.

7.2 / 10.0 - Blair Witch
Jul 22, 2020

The arrival of Blair Witch on the Nintendo Switch can still be analyzed as a successful operation, albeit more on a conceptual level than on a technical level. The product, which still gives its best on the other consoles on which it’s available, also brings to the hybrid one of the Kyoto’s software house all its baggage of anxiety and fear, even if very weakened by the limits imposed by a port that greatly penalizes the graphics sector. It's weird to carry the Black Hills forest on Switch so simply in your pocket, as if its monstrosities are tamed. But don't make the mistake of underestimating its darkness on Nintendo Switch: Blair Witch is always ready to make you disappear.

6.1 / 10.0 - Waking
Jul 4, 2020

Overall Waking tries, but it's not enough. It tries with the excellent meditative phases, it tries by building an action RPG apparatus based on personal emotions and our intimate knowledge of ourselves, which will lead us to transubstantiate our fears and our hopes on the screen. It tries with a more than enough artistic sector, albeit not exciting. Not new, but well done and accompanied by a good soundtrack. It tries but falls into transposing the idea into practice. Its gameplay is why Waking fails. Coarse, simplistic and limiting, as it should never be something that aims to illustrate the human soul. The two-meter-by-two-meter anthropomorphic deer can continue to tap me on the shoulder on my deathbed, but I don't know if I want too much to follow him.

Ys: Memories of Celceta takes the opportunity of passing on the Sony flagship to reveal that it has always been a must play for all JRPG lovers. With its complete and rounded gameplay, its compelling story and a really interesting overall proposal, the title of Nihon Falcom and Marvelous no longer really offers any excuse to those who hadn’t been able to approach this previously. Celceta Forest, in its mysterious enormity, has never been so close, and it’s calling us all.

I can only recommend to anyone who loved the first chapter the purchase of The Last of Us Part II and of course also to anyone who has titles with a strong narrative among their preferences. Even if the story told is necessarily violent, considering the apocalyptic situation in which the protagonists of the story find themselves, TLOU2 manages to excite also for the naturalness with which it deals with issues such as love and hope as revenge and the lesser parts of human souls. A game that will not only remain in the history of videogame but that will certainly remain forever in the memory of those who have played it and that sets new standards in terms of both narration and artistic components.
