Sword Art Online: Last Recollection is the worthy conclusion, narrative-wise, of the SAO Gamerverse, with continuous twists and turns and the presence of many memorable characters. Unfortunately, on a gameplay level the many mechanics introduced are of little use, and even on a technical level it doesn't impress, also presenting several quality-of-life flaws. It is in all respects a title to be played solely for the plot, dedicated to those who enjoyed the previous chapters.

Daymare 1998: Sandcastle has several good qualities; it is a clear homage to the classic survival horror games that made the history of our medium, but it loses itself in wanting to offer us a challenge that is way too difficult, almost punishing, ending up being excessively frustrating.

6.5 / 10.0 - Madden NFL 24
Aug 27, 2023

Madden NFL 24 brings several welcome improvements to the on-field experience, especially with regard to animations and AI, but in all other respects it still lags too far behind other sports simulations.

Matchpoint - Tennis Championships is a simulation that goes through ups and downs. The graphics feel a bit dated and the ball physics doesn't feel fully convincing, but once you master the control system you'll get some decent satisfaction out of it. Too bad, also, for the lack of content both in terms of modes and prominent tennis players.

6.5 / 10.0 - KungFu Kickball
Mar 8, 2022

KungFu Kickball would have all the makings of a great party game, but it lacks in depth and variety. Moreover, the overly simplistic single player component and the almost non-existent online community relegate it to the role of a game that can only be played among friends.

6.5 / 10.0 - CrossfireX
Feb 20, 2022

CrossfireX is, more than any other game, a two-sided coin. On one side we get a lacklustre and disappointing multiplayer component, while on the other we have two compelling, spectacular and creative - even if short - CoD-style campaigns, where Remedy's footprint is clearly visible. As a complete package, it's barely sufficient, but since they can be bought separately at a convenient price, we recommend trying the campaigns if you're into this kind of single-player FPS experience.

This comeback of the three GTA classics feels superficial and poorly optimized, although some improvements are clearly visible. It's not the remaster we were hoping for, but these are still immortal classics that can still entertain and sometimes even amaze. And sometimes that's all we need.

Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water is an old-fashioned horror title capable of delivering many thrills thanks to a well-written storyline, anxiety-inducing atmosphere and unique gameplay, provided, however, you can turn a blind eye to the problems related to controls, the little care taken in graphics improvements and the lack of localization for several western languages.

6.5 / 10.0 - Rust
Jul 11, 2021

Rust Console Edition is an addictive multiplayer survival game that will give great satisfaction only to those who will embrace its philosophy based on cooperation and PvP fights, without which the gaming experience is likely to become too frustrating. In addition, the game is suffering from a very poor technical realization, so as to seem an early access game rather than a full one. Given these issues, it is only advisable to super-enthusiasts of the genre.

Raji: An Ancient Epic delivers a fascinating depiction of Indian art and culture, but it disappoints due to unrefined and sometimes frustrating gameplay and to a bit too many bugs and performance problems.

6.5 / 10.0 - Minoria
Sep 20, 2020

Minoria offers a pleasant anime design and some spectacular combat animations, but it disappoints as a metroidvania game, with a too simplistic design, unsatisfying progression system and a troublesome difficult balancement.

Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris tries to experiment with too many different mechanics without making them too compelling, and that's hampered by a lackluster technical production. It's anyway got a good basis, and SAO fans will definitely appreciate its depiction of the anime's universe and the huge levels of fan service present.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin feels like a wasted opportunity, with an intriguing base idea but a lackluster plot, bad characterization and a disappointing technical production. It's partly saved by a satisfying - although not original - gameplay and a surprising ending.

6.7 / 10.0 - King's Bounty II
Sep 4, 2021

King's Bounty II is a title that only strategy fans will really appreciate. Gameplay is satisfying, but it is nevertheless undermined by a disappointing technical aspect and many little ingenuities that make the experience slow and tedious and that, if solved, would greatly improve the quality of life of the game.

UFO Robot Grendizer: The Feast of the Wolves is a partly successful nostalgia operation: it succeeds in giving strong emotions to those who lived through the golden age of Japanese robot cartoons, but unfortunately has major technical flaws, with delays in the control system and graphical slowdowns.

6.8 / 10.0 - Wanted: Dead
Feb 14, 2023

Wanted: Dead is only half a successful experiment. The idea of mixing the shooter genre with the hack'n'slash action game one is good, but it is dwarfed by the shallowness of some of the mechanics, a substandard technical realisation and problematic balancing.

Dawn of the Monsters successfully manages to reproduce the feeling of kaijus and big robot fights, but it doesn't add anything new to the genre's tropes, falling in a bit uninspired and repetitive gameplay.

Hood: Outlaws & Legends is a multiplayer title with good potential, but it doesn't manage to express all its qualities in the right way. The excellent level design and artistic component end up being overshadowed by technical problems, a lack of content and, above all, a limited and unbalanced matchmaking system.

Chronos: Before the Ashes introduces a "souls-lite" experience with an interesting aging mechanic but with a too low challenge level, even at the highest difficulty. Couple with an overly basic game and level design, it makes the game a bit too bland of an experience.

6.8 / 10.0 - Tannenberg
Aug 1, 2020

Tannenberg provides a realistic historical reproduction of one of the big battles of WW1, but the gameplay is still largely perfectible and battles feel too flat, with few tactical options ad too many campers which, historical accuracy or not, isn't pleasant in a multiplayer shooter.
