The best story-driven co-op adventure game I have played. It really does take two at almost every turn in this excellently crafted world. A must play.

Tense, chilling and undeniably charming throughout. Little Nightmares II is exactly what I wanted from a sequel to one of my favourite Indie games ever. Buy this game. It will be one of 2021's finest.

Hitman 3 is an early game of the year contender for me. It really is the ultimate stealth sandbox and one that any fan of the genre should check out. IO Interactive has taken their skills to the next level and I cannot wait to see what they do with the 007 license.

Hades was incredible on PC and Switch and is even more incredible on the newest consoles featuring stunning 4K visuals and the amazing gameplay that we all already loved. If you haven’t played it yet, what are you waiting for?

Deathloop is outstanding. It has taken the superb gameplay of Dishonored and reworked the story, time period, aesthetic and fun factor into a package much more palatable for the average gamer. The result is not only one of the best games this year, it's the best next-gen exclusive on any console. This is a must buy.

10 / 10.0 - Forza Horizon 5
Nov 8, 2021

It’s a difficult one, because other than the superb setting and proper top-tier graphics it could be argued that there hasn’t been a massive amount of innovation since our jaunt to the United Kingdom in 2018. But the simple fact is, that the formula Playground Games have crafted is near perfect. I said in our Forza Horizon 4 review that it was the greatest racing game ever made. Well, the best just got better.

I could go on and on about God of War Ragnarok, I really could. My closing thoughts continue to be about what an incredible journey this game is. It’s near flawless, in every way, and any criticisms are nit-picks, rather than genuine weak points. The Game Of The Year, right here, and to be honest, in my humble opinion, by a country mile.

Walkabout Mini Golf is a fantastic package. The game is an absolute joy to play, managing to strike the perfect balance between being inviting for newcomers and constantly rewarding for hardcore fans. I have been a big fan of VR dating back to the launch of the PS VR in 2016, playing most big titles in the years that followed. Walkabout Mini Golf is hands down my favourite VR game to date. A must-buy.

Needless to say, this is a Game of the Year contender. It took one of the best games on the market and improved it in ways we wouldn’t have thought possible until we got a controller in our hands and played it. A joy from start to finish.

10 / 10.0 - Alan Wake 2
Nov 15, 2023

Alan Wake 2 had me gripped from start to finish; the level of detail and quality of animation is remarkable and paired with an epic level of storytelling and audio, it amounts to an experience unlike any game I’ve played recently.

9.5 / 10.0 - Moss: Book II
Apr 24, 2022

PSVR has seen some excellent titles over the years. Blood & Truth, Astro Bot Rescue Mission, Superhot, Walking Dead Saints & Sinners and the first Moss title are just some of the games that spring to mind when discussing the best experiences on Sony’s headset and Moss Book II is another one to add to that conversation. A fitting swansong for PlayStation’s debut headset.

9.5 / 10.0 - Jack Move
Sep 24, 2022

Jack Move is brilliant. It is a bite-sized JRPG that will appeal to both newcomers like myself and seasoned veterans of the genre. A beautiful art style, captivating story, interesting characters, funny dialogue, compelling battle system and off-the-charts charm all blend together to make this one of my favourite gaming experiences of 2022.

Return to Monkey Island is a love letter to fans of the LucasArts classics of the 90’s. The characters and story was a joy from the first moment to the last and the puzzles were crafted in a way that make you feel clever for solving them. When you add this together with the beautiful art style and top quality voice work you end up with one of the best point-and-click games we have seen yet. Period.

Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty, despite its rocky predecessor, manages to deliver a visually stunning and immersive experience. The production value is completely off the charts. I spent 25 hours in Dogtown and I still have a few things to mop up and another two endings (of five total) to see. There has been some great additions to games over the years, but for me this stands on top of the pile as the best expansion to date.

I could probably harp on about Immortals for another few thousand words, but I’ll save you the rant. I will, however, leave you with this: Immortals Fenyx Rising is really good. The humour may not be for everyone, but there’s a ton more here than you might expect, and I think it’s worth your time if you’re into open-world action-adventure games. It may not bring much new to the table, but it’s a 30-50 hour journey that I’m super happy I went on – and you should too.

With its much-improved stealth, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has won me over. This feels like the best AC in a long time. It gives you the choice on how you want to tackle your objectives, something Odyssey lacked if you wanted to stay in the shadows like the Assassins of old.

Resident Evil 4 VR is a triumph for the platform. This game is often put on a pedestal and so when I say that this is the definitive way to play this classic, I don’t say it lightly. Legacy issues like escort missions and the inevitable immersion-breaking cutscenes aside, this is not only one of the best games on the Quest 2, but one of the best virtual reality games I have ever played.

9 / 10.0 - Rollerdrome
Aug 16, 2022

There are very few games this year that I have enjoyed as much as Rollerdrome. It may lack a proper story and be light on levels, but the moment-to-moment gameplay is nearly flawless. Because of this, there is plenty of replayability and challenges to work towards. The introductory price of £16.49 is a good deal and one I recommend everyone intrigued by this review, checks out!
