8 / 10.0 - Truxton Extreme
Aug 1, 2026

It may not be a casual-friendly game, but it sure is a hardcore-friendly game. Truxton Extreme certainly lives up to its name, as it’s a bullet hell game that will push you to your limits and reward you when you succeed.

In the end, The Moud: Omen of Cthulhu is a game I can see myself returning to time and time again, with massive replayability. 18 custom maps, not procedurally generated, with just a few tweaks – it’s a game for most friend groups down for a laugh and up for a good time.

Overall, Mavrix by Matt Jones is a top-tier sports simulator that is a must-play. I am not personally a mountain biker in real life, but the game is just beautiful and authentic, and you lose all track of time when cruising around the map, meeting new players and pushing the limits on the jumps to maximise your XP. Third King Games really has set the standard with this title for future bike simulators.

7.5 / 10.0 - Wreck Runners
Jul 25, 2026

While it still has room to grow in enemy variety, item explanation and mission diversity, the core gameplay loop remains strong. The combination of physics-driven teamwork, extraction mechanics and supernatural exploration gives Wreck Runners an identity all its own. If you’ve been looking for the next great cooperative game to enjoy with friends, this is one worth climbing aboard for.

Echoes of Aincrad is a good game with an interesting narrative, a beautiful world, and simple but effective combat. Despite some strange design choices and repetitive elements, there’s a lot to like here for both Sword Art Online fans and newcomers alike. It’s easily the best Sword Art Online game yet.

Halo: Campaign Evolved proves that legends never fade; they simply evolve. This is not just a remake; it is the definitive way to experience where one of gaming’s greatest franchises began, and it deserves every bit of praise it receives.

5 / 10.0 - Viking Frontiers
Jul 22, 2026

Viking Frontiers introduces some promising ideas. While it succeeds in certain areas, it falls short in others. Building and expanding your village is genuinely satisfying, but sluggish controls, a sparse world, and several noticeable bugs too often get in the way of what could have been a much more enjoyable survival experience.

This may not be the first K-pop management simulation game and doesn’t do anything overly groundbreaking, but it manages to stand out on its own. There’s a lot to be mindful of in the game, but once players find their rhythm, it becomes an enjoyable experience with various stories to discover. Treating your group well feels rewarding, and they show their appreciation. K-pop Idol Stories: Road to Debut may not live up to its full potential, but it still has a lot of content to make managing an up-and-coming K-pop group a fun and pleasant experience.

When it comes to audio for horror games, it can be quite hit or miss. I don’t find there’s much grey area here, and, in my opinion, Escape from Umbra missed the mark with its audio. A lot of the time, it felt overbearing and would take me out of the game, making me feel less immersed.

9 / 10.0 - Denshattack!
Jul 20, 2026

Denshattack! is a game unlike any other, something that needs to be experienced. The arcade-style approach helps players get straight into the game, but the mass variety it offers, simple, punishing gameplay and the addiction it creates will keep players coming back for more. Every aspect of the game carries style and personality, and the music by various gaming musicians and composers is a welcome addition to the vibrant, dynamic aesthetics. It’s time to board the Denshattack! hype train because it’s about to take off at breakneck speeds with no signs of slowing down.

Digimon Story Time Stranger proves that being a cyber-sleuth can be an involved job, yet a very satisfying one once you wrap your head around all the responsibilities that come with the role. I have plenty of mysteries ahead, but now I’m on the case; I’m keen to get this one solved.

9.5 / 10.0 - Heave Ho 2
Jul 18, 2026

Heave Ho 2 is a smart, creative multiplayer party experience that rewards creativity and patience. It won’t grab everyone immediately, but if you enjoy the party-game genre and are interested in a new approach that relies heavily on those playing with you, there’s something genuinely compelling here.

Remaster, remake, rerelease: gamers know the terms, but what do we expect from them—updated graphics and better quality, of course. AC Black Flag Resynced delivers that and much more. Ubisoft gives the community what it asked for in the AC franchise: a return to the seas. Few games stand the test of time, yet 2013’s Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag remains a staple in gaming and is still regarded as the best in the AC series.

6 / 10.0 - High on Life 2
Jul 15, 2026

High on Life 2’s Nintendo Switch 2 port has all the ingredients for a winning formula, but I wasn’t hooked. At release, I would expect games to be fully optimised, with only minor fixes as needed.

Traders Life Together is an enjoyable simulator that has plenty of great ideas, but it struggles because it tries to do too much at once. I really enjoyed the detailed stock placement system, the dynamic economy, and, obviously, the satisfaction of gradually growing your business over time. I couldn’t help but feel the game lost its core identity by piling on too many different mechanics.

Sonic Frontiers allowed fans to really step into the shoes of the blue hedgehog. Even though it’s a little rough around the edges, Sonic Frontiers was a huge step in the right direction and the Definitive Edition, with every update and new content included, shows what a modern Sonic game is capable of. The feeling it gives you is unlike anything that’s come before it. It has to be played to be believed.
