Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a lesson from Square-Enix to Square-Enix: Final Fantasy XVI and Naoki Yoshida pale in the face of the construction of gameplay and everything beyond Rebirth's narrative. From moving around with the Chocobo to exploring a huge world, to think that this will only be the second chapter in a trilogy leaves us to imagine how huge the concluding one might be, which will give us a chance to explore everything again with Cid's Highwind.

Rise Of The Ronin is not a missed opportunity but certainly not one of those exclusives that will be remembered for years to come, either. The excellent combat system crafted by Team Ninja, along with an engaging story that is respectful of the historical period used as a setting, make it an enjoyable game and, certainly, capable of beguiling fans of Ronin, Samurai and stories set in ancient Japan. At the same time, however, an obvious inexperience with the reference genre, coupled with an insufficient technical compartment.

Dragon's Dogma 2 is an experience that entertained and engaged us, perhaps one of the most original and satisfying RPGs you will play this year. However, the differences from the first episode are really minimal and the reduced fluidity on consoles disappointed us a bit. However, it should be specified that this is primarily designed to bring in a large number of new players.

Unicorn Overlord is the epitome of all the good that Vanillaware has been able to produce throughout its history. It is a long-lived, addictive work, with a graphic style to literally take one's breath away and capable of captivating from the beginning to the end of young Alain's adventures. Mario VS. Donkey Kong is an excellent re-release capable of properly debuting one of the most distinctive IPs in Nintendo's history. The "portable" nature of the production emerges very strong from the first moments of play, as well as, the moment you sit down in front of a monitor and start playing, the experience loses some of its magic by virtue of a strong redundancy of the proposed situations.

It is difficult to promote Foamstars: what was pitched as an innovative "party shooter" turned out to be a game as a service that has little new to offer. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is a bit of a culmination of everything the Ryū Ga Gotoku series has offered over the years. RoboCop: Rogue City will certainly not be the biggest work in this dense 2023, but it is still an unexpected surprise. Teyon comes from a very problematic product like Terminator Resistance, and we certainly would not have expected such a leap forward in such a short time. The team was able to take the essence of RoboCop and recreate it to video game, even experimenting with hybrid RPG mechanics that were not exactly functional, but at least commendable for their commitment to trying to do something different.

Super Crazy Rhythm Castle is a definitely original rhythm game: instead of choosing which songs to play from a song list, you will immerse yourself in a real music adventure, alone or together with a team of up to 4 players. Its strength is precisely in being able to come up with something innovative, but it is also its downfall.
