The Switch Effect
HomepageThe Switch Effect's Reviews
If you love the entire package of story, farming, combat, exploration, and characters, you could spend 50 to 70 hours playing the main game before even getting to the 11 Newlywed Mode chapters.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet along with their DLC’s are such an amazing and wonderful action packed experience that it’s easy to ignore the performance issues that most players would complain about.
The two strongest points of Born of Bread for me were the visuals and sound. I really liked the aesthetic of the 2.5D style, they really stood out to me and made me think back to the Paper Mario and South Park games.
A series of re-releases of older IREM titles for modern consoles thanks to the efforts of Ratalaika Games, ININ Games, and Strictly Limited Games.
The game is serviceable but I really wanted to like it so much more. There’s a lot of potential in the story and characters and both the music and visuals are great, but that’s where the praise ends.
Overall, Super Mario Bros Wonder is going to go down as a classic and I’m super glad I didn’t wait on it. Whether you’re buying a copy for yourself or receiving it as a gift you’re, in for a Wonderful time.
Hello Kitty and Friends Happiness Parade is maybe a bit above the typical licensed game you’d see on a store front in terms of what it has going for it. It’s accessible, maybe even insultingly so, but it really hits down the aesthetic, especially with the menus.
There’s a decent amount of content and lore behind the town that you’re building in and the characters. Put the three aspects together and the end product is a game that has a ton of content.
The core gameplay loop is simple but requires a lot of strategy and sometimes quick thinking. Each time you enter the dungeon you’re given a limited amount of backpack space and a few starting items. When you level up, you’re able to add more space to your backpack but that resets each time.
Suika Game is nothing more than a game for hunting high scores. If you get the watermelon and a really high score on your first attempt, you might not feel motivated to play anymore if you don’t feel like you can get an even better score. However most people will love the thrill of continuously trying to get a better score and using a mix of planning and luck to get them there.
The game runs incredibly well on the Switch, especially if you’re using a pro controller and has enough content to last you 100 hours or more.
The game has enough content and gameplay mechanics to be a lot of fun and keep you busy for hours but it simply can’t run on the Switch.
If you’re a fan of the Ghostbusters franchise or you like this style of gameplay similar to Phasmophobia, Dead By Daylight, or Friday the 13th: The Game, then Spirits Unleashed will be the game for you.
The game is basically a time consuming, laid back simulator like Powerwash Simulator but with a more thrilling vibe.
It’s a fun game that looks and sounds great and will be doable for people who have tons of experience with these kinds of games and lots of patience.
The Disgaea franchise is incredibly ambitious and with each new installment the fun and chaos grow. Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless is no exception.
You can tell that the game has been around for nearly ten years and the game suffers from a silly and complicated story but there’s a lot to enjoy.
If you played every retro RPG and are looking for more, Sea of Stars will scratch that itch and offer you some welcome nostalgia.
Imagine. A world without screen crunch, the crappy GameBoy speakers, needing to use external light to play the best of GameBoy. This is the kind of game Curse Crackers is.
Anyone can make a re-release or game collection, but Digital Eclipse has shown lately that they just have it in them to make celebrations of these games.
