With around 20 to 24 hours to complete the main story, and over 35 hours for 100%, recommending Sand Land becomes incredibly easy for long-time fans of Akira Toriyama's works, despite the misstep with Forest Land. Reviving Beelzebub's journey and learning more about this wonderful universe created by Master Toriyama was an immense pleasure, even with its flaws, which become more noticeable towards the end of the adventure.

After the missteps in previous years and expansions, The Final Shape is exactly what Destiny 2 needed to regain the trust of its players, from casuals who just want to enjoy a good story and occasionally repeat a strike, and to hardcore players who will spend hours dissecting raids and grinding master strikes and lost sectors.

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is a celebration of the entire Shin Megami Tensei franchise, making it a must-play title for long-time fans, players who have only experienced Persona, or even as an excellent entry point for those who have never touched the franchise or its spin-offs.

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Rumble is a game that managed to entertain me a lot, offering a good dose of challenge and relaxing moments. The magic of Super Monkey Ball lies in how laid-back the game is, allowing players to enjoy it in a spaced-out and casual way. In an era where big AAA games often span dozens of hours, demanding a greater commitment from players, Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble offers a lighthearted approach, focused solely on fun.

I honestly had a lot of fun with Metal Slug Attack Reloaded, despite the numerous frustrations caused by the remnants of the original release. However, I can't say it's an easy recommendation for everyone, given the heavy reliance on grind and RNG for progression, which can be a major downside for some players.

Despite featuring new graphics and beautiful facial expressions, Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD fails to provide a strong enough reason for players who have already experienced Dark Moon or still own a Nintendo 3DS to return for the new Switch version. However, for new players, the remaster is a must-have title for Nintendo Switch owners, especially for those who enjoyed Luigi’s Mansion 3 or haven't played Dark Moon on the 3DS.

I already considered Final Fantasy XIV a must-play title for franchise fans since Shadowbringers, due to its high-quality story and the incredibly rewarding fanservice. However, with the release of Dawntrail, this recommendation becomes even stronger, solidifying XIV's place in the conversation among the best Final Fantasy games of all time.

Although there are some issues, such as a repetitive gameplay loop that can become tiresome towards the end, or smaller problems like certain environmental elements disappearing in front of you, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is an excellent start for what could become one of Capcom's major franchises in the future, seamlessly blending two genres that previously seemed unlikely to work well together.

Nintendo World Championship: NES Edition has an interesting concept that may appeal to speedrun enthusiasts and more competitive players of the genre. However, the limited number of weekly online challenges and the small variety of offline challenges from certain games, such as the Japanese version of Super Mario Bros. 2, may frustrate some players who don’t have a competitive inclination toward speedruns.

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn ends up being a reflection of the saturation of Soulslike games in the industry. With an underdeveloped story, uninteresting characters, and no gameplay elements that make it stand out from the rest, Flintlock ends up getting lost and becoming completely forgettable.

SNK vs Capcom SVC Chaos is definitely a must-play title for fighting game fans, given its significance to the genre over the years and everything the re-release of the title represents. While it may fall short in its online mode, the 36 selectable characters offer plenty of content in its arcade mode, appealing to both newcomers to fighting games and veterans who have followed the two companies for decades, like myself.

Although considered a short game by today’s standards, with around 5 hours of gameplay that can stretch to 7 hours if the player aims for 100%, Nobody Wants to Die is an excellent investigative game that offers a unique atmosphere and an extremely engaging and rich storyline. The title can easily be considered a gem of the noir genre, making it a great choice for fans of investigative plots or those who simply enjoy the retro-futuristic aesthetic of the game.

The Gentlebros, the developer behind the franchise, brings yet another incredibly fun game. For those with a light heart who aren't expecting a serious story, and especially for those who enjoy lighter and more fun combat, this title is definitely a hit and one of the most enjoyable pirate games I’ve ever played.

Gundam Breaker 4 is a title that undoubtedly serves as a great tribute to the entire Mobile Suit Gundam franchise, living up to the legacy created by the world's most famous mecha series. The massive amount of parts for customization and the Diorama Mode make GB 4 the ultimate Gunpla creator.

With an extremely interesting and unpredictable story, charismatic characters, highly detailed scenes, and an immersive soundtrack, Emio - The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club for the Nintendo Switch is a great entry point for those who have never experienced a visual novel before. Long-time fans of the franchise will also be well-served, as Emio maintains the quality already known to players, despite being a slightly longer title than previous games.

Just like Deadpool & Wolverine was a great tribute to Fox's Marvel universe, Astro Bot is a great homage to PlayStation. Nostalgia hits hard at various moments, and I admit there were some moments of pure joy that took me back to my childhood. In short, Astro Bot is not a game for kids; it's a game for adults who haven't allowed themselves to abandon their inner child.

Visions of Mana is an easy recommendation for any fan of Japanese RPGs and Square-Enix games, serving as an excellent entry point into the series and a title that promises to carry the legacy of the Mana franchise to new heights. With enjoyable combat, stunning graphics and an exciting twist-filled story, Visions of Mana easily became one of my favorite games of the year.

For those looking to get into the franchise, Ace Attorney Investigations Collection is not the ideal title for that, but it's practically a must for long-time fans. The stories are good, just like the games were before Apollo Justice, which, in my opinion, marked a decline in writing quality since then. The good humor and the most eccentric characters possible are guaranteed in both games of the collection.

While some may find the campaign to be too short, the relentless action, extremely responsive gameplay, fluid combat and a gore system that would put many other franchises to shame, combined with a robust co-op mode and enjoyable PvP multiplayer, makes Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 one of the best games of 2024, and one of the best action games in recent years.

There is nothing like The Plucky Squire on the market. It is a unique experience that is well worth experiencing. Each chapter is a great surprise, capable of provoking laughter, enchanting with its creative puzzles or surprising with unique boss fights. The game is captivating, made with great care and is extremely rewarding, especially because it does not drag on too long. This makes it comforting and leaves you wanting more.
