Romeo is a Dead Man marks the triumphant return of Suda51 with an adventure that blends hack and slash gameplay, punk aesthetics, and absurd humor, delivering Grasshopper Manufacture’s most robust experience to date, albeit technically imperfect. The game fully embraces unrestrained creativity with unique mechanics, such as cultivating zombies and evolving attributes through retro-style minigames, but it stumbles with mission design that becomes repetitive and disrupts the pacing with subspace puzzles. While the narrative shine, the optimization falls short, suffering from performance issues and dated visuals that clash with its inspired art direction.

Final Fantasy VII Remake delivers an ambitious reimagining of the 1997 classic, featuring dynamic real-time combat, an expanded narrative, and high technical quality. On the Switch 2, the solid 30 FPS performance, the versatility between TV and handheld modes, and the inclusion of the Intergrade DLC make the package even more complete. With accessibility improvements and significant narrative changes, it’s an experience that appeals to both longtime fans and newcomers alike.

Overall, Lil Gator Game: Gator of the Year is an incredibly fun package and a great choice both for kids and for adults who want to cleanse their palate from those massive games that have been coming out and just relax for a while.

Code Vein II is the kind of sequel that tries to embrace the whole world and ends up tripping over its own feet. The ambition to create a vast open world with an anime aesthetic is clear, and the system that lets you switch classes at any time remains brilliant for the freedom it gives the player. The problem is that the game quickly loses its shine: exploration becomes tiring with empty environments and repetitive enemies, the story turns into a bureaucratic routine of “going back in time and saving someone,” and the technical performance leaves a lot to be desired.

Crisol: Theater of Idols is a horror FPS that stands out for focusing on action and combat rather than a slow-paced atmosphere. This, combined with an aesthetic that is strongly tied to the studio’s origins, makes the game a major highlight within the genre, even if it isn’t the scariest one.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties delivers a complete remake of the third game in the series alongside a new story episode that complements the narrative of Yakuza Kiwami 3 by delving even deeper into the motivations and desires of Yoshitaka Mine. Yakuza Kiwami 3 presents a more compact version of Yakuza 3’s story, making some questionable choices by relocating certain content to side activities, in addition to introducing significant changes to Kiryu’s gameplay. Dark Ties, on the other hand, succeeds by focusing exclusively on Mine’s deeper character development, offering a short campaign that knows when to end, despite falling a bit short in terms of secondary content.

Despite being a sequel to an already popular franchise, Nioh 3 emerges as a pleasant surprise by delivering extremely refined combat mechanics and very well-developed open maps that invite exploration, making it a must-play experience for action game fans.

My Hero Academia: All’s Justice adapts the Final War arc into a fighting game focused on 3v3 battles, featuring quick mid-combo character switches and mechanics like Rising Mode and Plus Ultra to turn rounds around and maintain pressure, while the story mode alternates perspectives to give rhythm and weight to the main confrontations.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A Mega Dimension serves as a solid expansion to the main game’s content, bringing challenging new endgame content and finally allowing players to break the level 100 barrier. Despite the interesting story premise and the fun interactions between characters, the progression system makes the journey somewhat tiring, which may disappoint players who are not strongly attached to the battle mechanics.

With more action and a cool main character, the “From The Ashes” expansion delivers a better and more refined experience than the base game, pleasing both fans of the original game and fans of the films.

Elden Ring Nightreign: The Forsaken Hollows proved to be a solid expansion, expanding the base game’s content with new bosses and equipment, while also refining the gameplay mechanics that worked well, managing to entertain and engage players who fell in love with the base game’s gameplay loop for several more dozens of hours.

Octopath Traveler 0 uses the excellent gameplay foundation of the mobile game to create a true work of art among modern Japanese RPGs, featuring a dynamic and deep combat system, an intriguing story with extremely well-developed villains, and a city-building system that is fun without overshadowing the battles.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond disappoints by replacing the classic interconnected maps with a tedious open world, which, combined with a shallow narrative and a lack of innovation in its gameplay mechanics, turns Samus’s return to the Metroid Prime franchise into a major wasted potential.

Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection shines by delivering a great selection of classic games in a structure that’s easy, fast, and intuitive to play. It features a fun online system, though one more geared toward casual players, and an excellent documentary about the franchise’s history.

ROUTINE delivers a surprisingly solid first-person horror experience, even after thirteen years of turbulent development. Set in Union Plaza, the game relies on a minimalist narrative told through logs and level design, enhancing immersion. The gameplay is methodical, tense, and fully diegetic, demanding constant strategy as the player faces a real threat in the lunar base corridors. With stable performance and an engaging atmosphere, ROUTINE stands out as a survival horror worth paying attention to.

Kirby Air Riders surprised me with its accessibility, fast pace, and variety of modes, but its extremely short sessions and some overly quick minigames end up hurting the experience. Technically solid and artistically vibrant, the game delivers a fun, chaotic, and well-polished package. In the end, I enjoyed playing it and had some good moments, but I didn’t fall in love with it. It’s fun, creative, and unique, just not particularly memorable.

Marvel Cosmic Invasion is more than just an homage or a game propped up by nostalgia; it’s a game that not only explores characters who are far from the company’s spotlight, but also delivers a co-op-focused experience with relatively robust mechanics and an incredible amount of content for fans.
