Piggy Gambit is a captivating puzzle game that harmoniously combines elements of chess and brain teasers. This unique adventure was developed by Tofu Soup, published by IndieNova, and made its debut in 2023
Blasphemous is a provocative yet profoundly thought-out and compelling product. With its dark and grotesque characters that often evoke deep sorrow, if not profound revulsion, it knows how to distinguish itself and break away from the stylistic norms of a classic metroidvania, even though it adheres to the rules and techniques of the genre
Red Line, a game of parallel worlds, inhabited by characters with their own secrets and skeletons in the closet. They will have to work together and solve puzzles in order to leave the limbo they are in and continue on their journey.
Adore is an ambitious Brazilian indie game that attempts to bring faster and more dynamic action to the monster collection game genre. Created by the developers Cadabra Games, the game is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox, Switch, and PC. However, despite the interesting game concept, “Adore” presents a series of challenges that influence the overall experience.
Dros is a really good title, which intelligently quotes the great classics of the great N. Its excellent graphic style and its narrative are combined with an articulated and stimulating level design. A layered game that can be both lightly approached and delved into completing all of its side objectives. It is not free from defects, the weak action part and the bugs, even if they can be fixed with a patch, currently compromise the good design work done by the developers. The fact remains that we are really dealing with a little gem that I recommend trying. You will not regret it
Super Mario RPG: The Legend of the Seven Stars is a game that has left an indelible mark on video game history. Released in 1996 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, this title is the first hybrid of an encounter RPG and a platformer with the iconic Super Mario style.
Dredge is a solo fishing adventure with strong gameplay design and great sense of discovery. Even if it has some technical flaws, a certain basic repetitiveness and some narrative gaps, its granite design and horror atmosphere make this game a little gem to discover.
Grappling with time paradoxes, the butterfly effect and rouge AI, we will be the most workaholic detectives of all time!
Bramble: The Mountain King deserves praise for the care that went into its creation and the uniqueness of its fascinating and evocative Scandinavian folklore-inspired setting, but above all, it deserves recognition for its characters. Perhaps a little too short-lived.
Testament is a first-person RPG with Metroidvania elements developed by Fairyship Games, a team of just 15 people. It was released on July 13th on Steam, and will subsequently be released for Playstation and Xbox as well.
Fall of Porcupine is a bittersweet adventure that focuses on dialogue and a strong mature narrative. Critical Rabbit will accompany us to discover this world, but be careful. Appearances can often be deceiving.
Mountaincore is the new title developed and produced by Rocket Jump Technology for colony management lovers. Mountaincore has been released in early access since May 18 2023, only for PC players. Mountaincore is a 2D strategic simulation indie sandbox where we will guide a small colony of dwarves in their new settlement, managing everything from water supply to cultivation, as well as mining and selling materials
Blade of Darkness is a classic homage to its origins. It is nostalgic, violent, powerful, and memorable. SNEG’s remastered succeeds in almost everything it sets out to do, introducing noteworthy innovations to the technical and graphical aspects while preserving the original work’s identity. The gameplay and story remain unchanged, faithful, and untarnished since the 2001 release. While there may be some minor technical limitations and slightly dated graphics compared to contemporary standards, Blade of Darkness shines with numerous strengths and only a few minor weaknesses. It is a must-have for anyone seeking action, blood, and a bit of wholesome fun.
We embark on a potentially deadly journey with archaeologist Adamari “Andie” Ito. A story of adventure and discovery of what has been and what could be the fate of humanity.
Death or Treat is a hack-and-slash in 2D, beautifully drawn. It’s a game that playfully satirizes everything and while it clearly takes inspiration from Hollow Knight, it still possesses its own unique personality.
Edited by Wired Productions and developed by Rogue Sun, Tin Hearts is not only a 3D puzzle game which will put your skills to the test. It’s also a bittersweet story about a family, tragic events, denial and redemption. All of this is told during the 51 levels and a moving epilogue.
Papetura is an incredible visual and auditory experience, crafted with care and devotion, using paper as a material to create beautiful sculptures that serve as the backdrop and embellishments for this fabulous and bizarre world. The gameplay is simple yet effective, and the slowness of actions allows one to fully appreciate the hard work of its creator.
Age of Darkness: final stand is surely a good surprise and a real deal, especially for old school RTS lovers. Campaign mode is very promising and got on the right way.
Dead Unending is the first project from solo indie developer Tylario. It is an incremental survival horror with sandbox elements and retro graphics. Although the category is saturated with similar titles, this independent game presents some very interesting innovations for the genre.
Toasterball is an extremely unique and bizarre game. And I believe it goes without saying that it earns a lot when played in groups. Despite making good use of the toasters’ physics and the ability to perform “stunts” with the appliances, the gameplay becomes extremely chaotic. Toasterball is one of those games where the merits can transform into flaws depending on the player’s sensitivity.
