Broken Sword - Shadow of the Templars: Reforged brings back a classic of point-and-click graphic adventures, giving it its best look yet. This product can be appreciated both by nostalgic players, although it ultimately doesn't aim to offer them anything truly new, and even more by younger gamers looking to approach a classic from a genre that has nearly fallen out of use.

Iron Meat is a tribute to the genre it draws inspiration from and to the cornerstones of run-and-gun games. The greatest strength of the production is its dual appeal. It manages to cater to both seasoned gamers who experienced those years and to newcomers drawn to this "chaotic" genre (or simply, to its successful retro pixel art aesthetic). It's a pity that in just a couple of afternoons, you’ll have seen everything, regardless of your skill with the controller.

Akimbot is a completely derivative title that manages to soften the rigidities of the predecessors of the subgenre it draws inspiration from, while inexplicably self-limiting in terms of its core gameplay mechanics. Fortunately, the title is packed with various special sequences that provide the production with plenty of variety. Even more so, it is an incredibly intense product, with no downtime. In a word, explosive.

TIEBREAK launches on the market with an excellent roster and really solid gameplay. Unfortunately, some issues, especially regarding the lack of content, highlight that the game wasn’t quite ready to leave Early Access. Today, TIEBREAK is 'just' a fun game that may only entertain you for a short time. However, the foundation is solid, and if Big Ant Studios can complete the work in the coming months, the numerical rating accompanying this review could rise by half a point. Will the studio manage to win this tie-break?

Deathbound is a product with an original idea at its base that has a bivalent function. On the one hand it characterizes the narrative quite effectively. On the other it allows for an original combat system. It is a pity, however, that between the idea and the merely playful realization the right synergy was not found.

Bleak Faith: Forsaken is a proverbial rough gem. It is, indeed, a gameplay experience that lacks polish, but it has a strong identity. Thanks to the synergy between the interconnectedness of the game world, an art direction that pushes the majesty and scale of the environments and a reward system that is always on point, it will literally keep you glued to the screen, provided you can “adapt” to its edges.

Shadow of the Erdtree is the perfect closure of the circle. Elden Ring with Shadow of the Erdtree definitely becomes FromSoftware's glorious work. The rating you see here has been assigned also, or rather especially, for what Elden Ring was, is, and will be. Are we romantics to see that kind of message in it? Maybe yes, maybe no, but there is no question that there is a before and an after Elden Ring.

Astor: Blade of the Monolith is a title characterized by an overwhelming sense of flatness in gameplay. Despite the intriguing narrative twists and the dungeons in the latter half of the game that manage to be somewhat stimulating, our gaming experience can be summed up in a single word: monotony. If you decide to give Astor a chance, remember the Blade of Mono... tony that will inevitably hang over your heads.

Tales of Kenzera: Zau is a title with a strong emotional impact that gave us back feelings we have rarely experienced while playing a video game. This is partly due to the meticulous audio-visual research conducted. Unfortunately, in strictly gameplay terms, the title from Surgent Studios has proven to be somewhat uninspired and imprecise. Otherwise, we would be talking about a true gem of a medium. Thus, Tales of Kenzera: Zau is “just” a good game.

Freedom Planet 2 is a title rich in content, diverse, and layered. These significant strengths offset the somewhat unconvincing movement system. In light of this, we think it deserves a chance from everyone: it could make inroads into the souls of both the most nostalgic and the newer generation.

Discussing "too much of a good thing" in a review of an open world game can lead to misunderstandings, especially for those who only pay attention to the final comments and score. For this reason, we want to clearly emphasize the point. The open world of Rise of the Ronin is incredibly well-crafted. What feels excessive are the ludo-narrative variables related to the choices and freedoms given to the player. It may not be Team Ninja's most focused title (Nioh and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty are more structured and precise in what they offer). It won't be the definitive crowning achievement of the studio in the pantheon of developers because the highlighted criticisms stem from "immature" choices that limit the proverbial "next step" in their growth. However, if there’s one thing the Japanese team excels at, it’s creating increasingly satisfying and exhilarating combat systems. Even starting from mechanics we’ve seen before, they manage to deliver something new and more enjoyable every time. And Rise of the Ronin is precisely that: the most satisfying, exhilarating, and fun title from Team Ninja, despite everything.

Outcast - A New Beginning is a great open-world action-adventure game that, despite its various criticisms, mainly related to narrative presentation and technical aspects, will entertain you thanks to its successful gameplay loop and the beauty (in every aspect) of Adelpha.

Slave Zero X is probably an even more niche title than the first chapter. It’s a tough and gritty game, with several flaws, but it can still be appreciated by purists of action games. Only them and no one else, because only those skilled with this type of game will be able to dig deep and fully enjoy the title.

Tomb Raider I-III Remastered is one of the best remastered we have played. It’s a tribute to the origins of the franchise (and consequently the genre). Not everyone will appreciate the three titles by playing them today for the first time, but the charm they exude is still undiminished. And as the old romantics that we are, sometimes that's all we need.

We want to be honest: not even in our wildest dreams would we have expected Helldivers 2 to manage to be such a damn fun title. The excellent gameplay and its ability to make us feel like part of a team—and even more, part of a community—are worth the price of ticket. Now it’s up to the developers to grow their creation, but as of now, despite some fruition-related issues that we bet will be resolved soon, we believe Helldivers 2 is the best Game as a Service on the market. If you haven't enlisted yet, do it now—there's plenty of alien trash to take out!

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is Don't Nod's best game. We faced an emotionally devastating title supported this time by a well-executed and satisfying "action" element, especially thanks to the excellent level design of the game world. Despite some shortcomings, as highlighted in the review, we believe this is the first title from Don't Nod that will win everyone over.

TEKKEN 8 is a product that appeals powerfully to everyone. We are dealing with an extremely deep title, one that will delight the most savvy gamers, while at the same time managing to be the most accessible TEKKEN ever. Similarly, it manages to be full of single player content, almost encyclopedic, and also to offer an online infrastructure that is finally stable and full of options that will delight all the most competitive fans. The King is back, in all his glory!

We cannot hide our disappointment stemming from the feeling of not being the protagonists, both narratively and in gameplay, of what we played. The willingness (or need?) of the developers to beat around the bush a bit meant that we found ourselves faced with a title that does many things well, but none really in a great way.

Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising is a gem. Calling it a reissue would be an understatement, almost offensive, given the many new features and improvements. An exceptional online component and a series of new mechanics perfectly integrated with the original game's framework make it the perfect fighting game for newcomers, while also being a treasure for those who want to dive deeper. It’s the grand finale of a monstrous 2023.

Ghostrunner 2 is the pinnacle of first-person action-platformers. A title that not only perfects what was done in the first chapter but also manages to "go beyond." We are faced with a stunning game, but, if we may say so, elitist. For this reason, we can't recommend it to everyone indiscriminately. However, if you want to challenge yourself, with Ghostrunner 2 you’ll undoubtedly experience one of the most adrenaline-pumping and thrilling experiences of the year. And not only that.
