Tales of Kenzera: Zau is a title with a strong emotional impact that gave us back feelings we have rarely experienced while playing a video game. This is partly due to the meticulous audio-visual research conducted. Unfortunately, in strictly gameplay terms, the title from Surgent Studios has proven to be somewhat uninspired and imprecise. Otherwise, we would be talking about a true gem of a medium. Thus, Tales of Kenzera: Zau is “just” a good game.

7.8 / 10.0 - Freedom Planet 2
Apr 2, 2024

Freedom Planet 2 is a title rich in content, diverse, and layered. These significant strengths offset the somewhat unconvincing movement system. In light of this, we think it deserves a chance from everyone: it could make inroads into the souls of both the most nostalgic and the newer generation.

8.5 / 10.0 - Rise of the Ronin
Mar 21, 2024

Discussing "too much of a good thing" in a review of an open world game can lead to misunderstandings, especially for those who only pay attention to the final comments and score. For this reason, we want to clearly emphasize the point. The open world of Rise of the Ronin is incredibly well-crafted. What feels excessive are the ludo-narrative variables related to the choices and freedoms given to the player. It may not be Team Ninja's most focused title (Nioh and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty are more structured and precise in what they offer). It won't be the definitive crowning achievement of the studio in the pantheon of developers because the highlighted criticisms stem from "immature" choices that limit the proverbial "next step" in their growth. However, if there’s one thing the Japanese team excels at, it’s creating increasingly satisfying and exhilarating combat systems. Even starting from mechanics we’ve seen before, they manage to deliver something new and more enjoyable every time. And Rise of the Ronin is precisely that: the most satisfying, exhilarating, and fun title from Team Ninja, despite everything.

Outcast - A New Beginning is a great open-world action-adventure game that, despite its various criticisms, mainly related to narrative presentation and technical aspects, will entertain you thanks to its successful gameplay loop and the beauty (in every aspect) of Adelpha.

7.5 / 10.0 - Slave Zero X
Mar 12, 2024

Slave Zero X is probably an even more niche title than the first chapter. It’s a tough and gritty game, with several flaws, but it can still be appreciated by purists of action games. Only them and no one else, because only those skilled with this type of game will be able to dig deep and fully enjoy the title.

Tomb Raider I-III Remastered is one of the best remastered we have played. It’s a tribute to the origins of the franchise (and consequently the genre). Not everyone will appreciate the three titles by playing them today for the first time, but the charm they exude is still undiminished. And as the old romantics that we are, sometimes that's all we need.

8.3 / 10.0 - Helldivers II
Feb 18, 2024

We want to be honest: not even in our wildest dreams would we have expected Helldivers 2 to manage to be such a damn fun title. The excellent gameplay and its ability to make us feel like part of a team—and even more, part of a community—are worth the price of ticket. Now it’s up to the developers to grow their creation, but as of now, despite some fruition-related issues that we bet will be resolved soon, we believe Helldivers 2 is the best Game as a Service on the market. If you haven't enlisted yet, do it now—there's plenty of alien trash to take out!

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is Don't Nod's best game. We faced an emotionally devastating title supported this time by a well-executed and satisfying "action" element, especially thanks to the excellent level design of the game world. Despite some shortcomings, as highlighted in the review, we believe this is the first title from Don't Nod that will win everyone over.

9.3 / 10.0 - Tekken 8
Feb 4, 2024

TEKKEN 8 is a product that appeals powerfully to everyone. We are dealing with an extremely deep title, one that will delight the most savvy gamers, while at the same time managing to be the most accessible TEKKEN ever. Similarly, it manages to be full of single player content, almost encyclopedic, and also to offer an online infrastructure that is finally stable and full of options that will delight all the most competitive fans. The King is back, in all his glory!

Jan 31, 2024

We cannot hide our disappointment stemming from the feeling of not being the protagonists, both narratively and in gameplay, of what we played. The willingness (or need?) of the developers to beat around the bush a bit meant that we found ourselves faced with a title that does many things well, but none really in a great way.

Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising is a gem. Calling it a reissue would be an understatement, almost offensive, given the many new features and improvements. An exceptional online component and a series of new mechanics perfectly integrated with the original game's framework make it the perfect fighting game for newcomers, while also being a treasure for those who want to dive deeper. It’s the grand finale of a monstrous 2023.

9 / 10.0 - Ghostrunner 2
Dec 4, 2023

Ghostrunner 2 is the pinnacle of first-person action-platformers. A title that not only perfects what was done in the first chapter but also manages to "go beyond." We are faced with a stunning game, but, if we may say so, elitist. For this reason, we can't recommend it to everyone indiscriminately. However, if you want to challenge yourself, with Ghostrunner 2 you’ll undoubtedly experience one of the most adrenaline-pumping and thrilling experiences of the year. And not only that.

8.5 / 10.0 - The Last Faith
Nov 28, 2023

The Last Faith, echoing the subtitle of this review, is a derivative game, extremely derivative, but beautiful. Beautiful to play and beautiful to look at. In such a lately inflated genre it was certainly not easy to get noticed, all the more so by drawing heavily from one of the most idolized titles of recent years. Yet Kumi Souls Games succeeded with a square title, flawless in the core elements of our favorite media. A title that manages to stay in focus for the full 25 hours required for its 100% completion. Highly recommended.

5 / 10.0 - Flashback 2
Nov 24, 2023

Flashback 2 is an, at best, mediocre game. The narrative component, on paper even fascinating, has been trivialized by atrocious staging. And the gameplay component is even worse. A game not recommended for everyone, even (and perhaps more so) for fans of the first chapter.

With a little more effort, productive and economic, UFO ROBOT GRENDIZER - The Feast of the Wolves could have aspired to higher heights. In this state it is a decent game recommended only to fans of the robot created by Gō Nagai, who will love it despite the poverty of content. Those immune to nostalgia are advised to look elsewhere.

7.3 / 10.0 - The Invincible
Nov 9, 2023

The Invincible is an interactive story that encourages the player to continue the adventure thanks to the aura of mystery that permeates the entire narrative. However, when playing, it is a very rigid title, even when considering the "limited and limiting" genre it belongs to.

4.8 / 10.0 - Quantum Error

Quantum Error is an inadequate title, no use getting around it. The map structure and the few interesting ideas are overshadowed by a totally unsuitable ludic core. Highly not recommended.

Agatha Christie - Murder on the Orient Express is a very good graphic adventure with an investigative theme that, thanks to an excellent reimagining of the original work and a well-executed audio-visual presentation, manages to make its mark, despite the fact that the progression of the adventure proves to be extremely simple and guided.

Lords of the Fallen is a title we highly recommend to all action-RPG fans, especially if you're a fan of the soulslike subgenre. What we initially thought was little more than a gimmick turned out to be the most impactful variable introduced to the subgenre since it rose to prominence. The new take on the core level design concept, combined with a satisfying combat system—though not entirely free of flaws—made our experience with Lords of the Fallen truly rewarding, at times even surprising.

Detective Pikachu Returns is an unexciting, unsparkling title. The superb characterization of the protagonist fails to mitigate the huge, merely playful criticalities the title presents, which become even heavier if you are a not-so-first-time gamer. In light of this, we recommend the product developed by Creatures Inc. only to the very young. Everyone else, even if we were talking about the biggest fans of the brand, might get bored.
