8.8 / 10.0 - Constance
May 10, 2026

Constance is a game that knows when to begin and, above all, when to end—a rare quality these days. It offers a masterfully balanced experience that doesn’t waste a single minute of the player’s time, yet leaves a slight sense of longing for extra content that could have made it timeless. It is a tribute to resilience in the purest and most modern sense of the word. It’s not just the resilience of the artist who falls and gets back up in front of the canvas, but our own daily resilience. That of those who must fit their passion into days overflowing with commitments, deadlines, and responsibilities. In an era that bombards us with endless titles that almost feel like a second job, Constance’s compactness is an act of respect for our time. It teaches us that to leave a mark, you don’t need to be immense, but rather dense, honest, and capable of transforming effort into something beautiful. It is a challenge that tests us but rewards us with immense satisfaction, reminding us that, despite the limited time available and life’s difficulties, there is always room for a work that can truly move us. A must-have for anyone craving a product that is not just entertainment, but a small, great personal victory to hold in their hands.

9.3 / 10.0 - Saros
Apr 24, 2026

Housemarque has crafted a masterpiece in which the dynamism of the gameplay and the controlled chaos that ensues generate an ‘instinctive’ feel that is utterly addictive. It is a work that minimises the gap between intention and action, capable of making us enthusiastic ‘accomplices’ in a magnificent frenzy. If Returnal challenged us with its harshness, Saros invites us to master the storm with a newfound awareness that creeps under your skin in a damn natural way. It is a cohesive, pulsating and utterly dynamic experience that makes everything else seem to move in slow motion. It is the Finnish team’s mature masterpiece: intelligent, brutal and bloody brilliant. Once you’ve entered its loop, you’ll just want to keep going, and going, and going.

9.5 / 10.0 - Hades II
Apr 13, 2026

Hades II is, at its core, exactly what every sequel should be. Supergiant Games has done it again. They’ve managed to take an already extraordinary formula and make it even richer, more varied, and more “sustainable” in the long run. Of course, it lacks the novelty factor of six years ago: the first Hades was, after all, a groundbreaking, hugely important game. But setting that aside, and overlooking the narrative issues highlighted, Hades II is simply a must-play title. Irresistible.

More than two years after its first release, Super Mario Bros. Wonder continues to impress with its freshness and irresistible pace. Meetup in Bellabel Park, while being a limited-scope expansion heavily focused on multiplayer, still adds moments of fun without upsetting the game’s balance. Overall, it remains an extraordinary experience: a masterfully crafted platformer that excites and entertains just as much today as it did two years ago, and is destined to remain a benchmark for fans of the genre.

7 / 10.0 - 1348 Ex Voto
Mar 21, 2026

1348 Ex-Voto is one of those games that puts us in an awkward position: its flaws are obvious, but we can’t bring ourselves to completely dismiss it. Because yes, the flaws are numerous. The narrative constantly falls apart, the combat is more interesting in theory than in practice, and… so much more. There’s too much that “doesn’t add up” to call it a truly successful game. And yet it had, at times, an inexplicable hold on us. Because all it took was a vineyard, a church, a country road, to captivate us with a very specific imagery. Perhaps its charm lies precisely in this constant contradiction: seeing clearly everything that doesn’t work, and yet continuing to believe that beneath those cracks lies something precious.

8.3 / 10.0 - Ys X: Proud Nordics
Mar 14, 2026

Ys X: Proud Nordics doesn’t revolutionize the original version, but it still manages to enhance the experience. The new narrative content, additional abilities, and various gameplay refinements make this edition more complete and better balanced. For those who have never played Ys X, this is undoubtedly the best version to start with. Adol and Karja’s adventure remains fun, dynamic, and full of spectacular moments, thanks above all to a combat system that continues to be one of the game’s strongest points. Those who have already completed the original might find the new features less essential, but the collection of additions still makes Proud Nordics a successful re-release.

The re-release of Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen on Nintendo Switch is, first and foremost, a preservation effort. On the one hand, it allows a new generation of gamers to discover two of the most solid and representative chapters in the saga. On the other, it offers long-time fans the opportunity to return to Kanto and relive an adventure that marked an entire era of gaming. However, the feeling remains that more could have been done. Some online features, greater integration with the modern ecosystem of the series, or even just minor technical improvements could have made these re-releases even more significant. As they stand, FireRed and LeafGreen on Switch remain two timeless classics re-released in their purest form. And perhaps, ultimately, that is precisely why they continue to work so well.

God of War: Sons of Sparta is a good Metroidvania game. Solid, consistent, respectful. But also cautious. Too cautious to aspire to anything more. It doesn't redefine the subgenre. It doesn't establish itself as a new benchmark. And at this point, reflection becomes inevitable. Is an experiment like this, perhaps imperfect, better than yet another live service project designed to chase the market and then, perhaps, be canceled? Is a “small” God of War that tries to explore different territories better than the total absence of the brand while waiting for a bigger chapter? At the same time, it is legitimate to wonder whether a name like God of War deserved a more ambitious, more refined, more courageous production. Between black and white, in short, there are many shades of gray. Sons of Sparta is exactly there, and for us, that's fine. It's a good product that demonstrates how, on that fine line between rigor and limitation, moderation can become a virtue: essential, disciplined... Spartan. In the positive sense of the term.

MIO: Memories in Orbit is a metroidvania that is aware of its influences and does not seek to reinvent the genre, but rather works with great care on all its key aspects. The traversal is extraordinary, the level design is inspired, and the art direction is top-notch. It is a work that demands attention, curiosity, and dedication, but it rewards you with moments of genuine beauty. Douze Dixièmes, with a small team and a clear vision, has managed to craft a title that demonstrates how much passion can make a difference. It is a journey between decadence and hope that deserves to be experienced to the fullest.

From the Ashes represents the moment when Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora finally finds a clearer direction. It doesn't erase the uncertainties of the past, but it confronts them, transforming them into an opportunity for growth. Thanks to a more personal narrative, refined gameplay, and structural changes that improve pacing and immersion, Pandora manages to rise from its ashes, offering a more mature, more coherent, and decidedly more compelling experience.

8.3 / 10.0 - Skate Story
Dec 27, 2025

Skate Story is a unique experience. It is a video game that accepts the risk of being misunderstood in order to remain faithful to its vision. It requires the player to tune into its language and not vice versa. But once this small obstacle has been overcome (with a simple Ollie), Sam Eng's work manages to engage with surprising naturalness, revealing a rare coherence between the author's intention and the sensory response. More than a game to be “finished,” Skate Story is an experience to be tried. It is a work that speaks of movement, fragility, and silent resistance. And it is here that Skate Story fully reveals its nature as a lesson in resilience. Not heroic or decisive resilience, but one made up of attempts, falls, and imperfect restarts. A resilience that does not eliminate pain, but teaches us to live with it, to adapt to it, to keep moving despite the constant possibility of breaking. A title that teaches that the journey is important, not just the destination. That you have to grit your teeth and keep going with tenacity, even when the ground seems to be falling away beneath your feet. And it is precisely in this precarious balance between form and feeling that Skate Story finds its most authentic strength.

Bubble Bobble Sugar Dungeons attempts to innovate the formula, but the execution doesn't live up to the ambition. The superficial level design, mobile game progression, minimalist presentation, and lack of co-op severely limit the experience. The only real point of interest is the Bubble Symphony extra, which reminds us how solid and fun the series could be. Otherwise, the initial runs may be briefly entertaining, but the underlying repetitiveness makes the title overall unsatisfying.

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition fails to truly be the “definitive” version. On a purely technical level, it does an excellent job, and overall it is probably the most stable version. However, it is unacceptable that the developers have failed to “confirm” the purely graphical aspect of a work that was released nine years ago. That aside, Lara Croft remains a magnetic protagonist, the adventure retains its charm, and the portability option adds real value to the package, making the experience accessible anywhere.

7.8 / 10.0 - Possessor(s)
Nov 25, 2025

Possessor(s) is an enjoyable, smooth-running, well-presented title with a fun combat system and polished art direction. It's a product that works and that knows how to entertain anyone familiar with the genre. However, it cannot escape what we might call the comfort zone trap: a safe, reassuring place where everything is done well, but without that proverbial spark. And in a landscape full of innovative, bold, and experimental Metroidvania games, staying in the comfort zone means risking remaining a good product that will never leave its mark.

Anima Gate of Memories: I&II Remaster is a collection that deserves credit for re-releasing two unique titles in the most solid and consistent way possible. It does not attempt to modernize the formula or reinvent it, but aims to provide a more stable experience that is less prone to the original technical issues. The two narrative perspectives contained in a single package emerge today with greater clarity and continuity, representing the true added value of this new edition. It is a recommended collection for those who have never played the series, and a useful opportunity for those who wanted to replay it without the limitations of the past.

8.3 / 10.0 - Tormented Souls 2
Nov 2, 2025

Tormented Souls 2 is, first and foremost, an act of love. A tribute to the past, but also a statement of intent for the present: to prove that horror doesn't need excess to work, but only good ideas, atmosphere, and respect for the rhythm of fear. Tormented Souls 2 chooses slowness, tension, and anticipation. An experience that speaks directly to lovers of classic survival horror, but also manages to offer something new to those who have never really experienced it. An elegant, visceral, and melancholic nightmare that doesn't scream to scare, but whispers to get under your skin.

8 / 10.0 - Bye Sweet Carole
Oct 19, 2025

You have to look at things from another perspective. A simple, overused phrase, but essential for best understanding Bye Sweet Carole. A game that must be viewed with the right sensitivity, accepting its imperfections, but also embracing its soul. The gameplay is functional but basic, at times imprecise, with moments that struggle to bear the weight of the atmosphere built around it. Some sequences are repetitive or uninspired, and technically there are small and large flaws. But if we turn a blind eye to the strictly playful aspect, what remains is an elegant, touching story, narrated with a rare visual taste, a timeless sensitivity, and a strong and recognizable authorial vision that runs through every frame like a signature. The writing touches on delicate themes without rhetoric. The atmosphere enchants without needing to explain itself. There is a precise hand behind it all, knowing when to hold back and when to strike. Sometimes, to really see, you just need to close one eye and let your heart do the watching.

Pac-Man World 2 Re-PAC is therefore a valuable remake, capable of sparingly combining past and present. The developers have made the second 3D adventure of the beloved yellow ball more appealing to contemporary audiences without distorting its identity. And as the icing on the cake, they have given us a good dose of new content that makes the package even more complete, both for new gamers and for those who have already experienced that never-too-praised golden age of video games.

Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion is an ambitious sequel that attempts to redefine the formula of its predecessor by expanding it in every possible direction. However, the new semi-open world structure, while promising on paper, often proves to be distracting and uninspired in practice, with environments that are too similar and missions that tend to repeat themselves. Nevertheless, it remains an experience with a distinct identity that will satisfy those who are drawn to its “strategic” component. For everyone else, Titanic Scion risks becoming a looping race in an empty world: spectacular at times, but with the handbrake on.

8.3 / 10.0 - Hell Is Us
Sep 14, 2025

Hell Is Us is not a video game for everyone. And in 2025, that's a huge compliment. In an industry that often prefers to play it safe rather than take risks, Rogue Factor has had the courage to create a title that doesn't try to please everyone, but only those who are willing to challenge themselves. If you are among them, you will find yourself immersed in a powerful, dense, visually striking, and narratively elusive and poignant experience. You will get lost, you will get angry, you will go back, you will reread your notes, you will search for meaning. And, in the end, something will stay with you. A feeling. A doubt. A message. It's not perfect — in fact, at times it's deliberately rough, imperfect, unclear. But it's authentic. If you're tired of the usual open worlds, checklists to complete, and cookie-cutter dialogue, then Hell Is Us could be the breath of fresh air you need.
